really caused Williams mental illness to boil over

For sure, Master P wasn't an issue. Ricky just ahead of his time :pimp:
They may turn it around, I hold out hope. But the 2021-22 Pelicans were led by someone who is no longer with the team and collectively got kicked to the curb here. ..... oh, ok I'll stop, I still get triggered from time to time
Just my observation, he may have lost weight but his conditioning has not markedly improved. When he has the ball in his hands, he is somewhat motivated in transition but when he doesn't, he loafs. Again, if he just runs the floor he is an easy 20, 5, and 5. He may be trying to figure out his ideal weight, but regardless his conditioning has to improve. I believe a lot of teams have their eyes on Zion and one of the things they are looking at is will he engage when he is not option 1.
Best thing for everyone, for sure is that Zion does turn it on, stays healthy and provides 20,5, and 5 that he should be able to do in his sleep. Problem will be then Pels will want to give him another shot

Its really in his best interest to learn to be a complementary piece at times and rethink his game. Everyone talks about his lack of shooting anything outside of 12' but near as important is that he needs to be able to run the court. Pet peave of mine is that he won't run (conditioning?) unless he is leading the transition. He should have always been feasting as a finisher (either on the wing or as a trailer) with less physical pounding on his body.
Move was ok with me, someone didn’t like the way Hawks were trying to Big Boi them.

There's always more to stats than you think

For sure, I'm pro statistical analysis but everyone can't be the spokesman. You make a great point with the +- . First blush is to use that as a player barometer and your example shows the foolishness of the metric used in that context. Practically, a lot of teams use their star(s) to carry bench lineups so they don't tank the game while also providing rest for other starters. There are levels to the game.

In reality, it's just a you completely missing the mark on what you think my assessment of Zion is.

For sure, give you a lot of grace because you did come around two or so years ago. But before that OY Vey ... Some of us just saw things for what they were long before that. Remember when they said we have to get off Jrue because he didn't fit Zion's timeline? Jrue has gone on to be a two time champ and All star --> Zion expectations

Explain it then

For sure, it really just comes down to expectations for a certain Husky fellow for a lot of you all. Stars so bright in your eyes for Zion clouded all reasonable judgement for anything else, including BI. I'm just browsing all the post about him in this thread that are just as ridiculous as when he was here. i.e. "he's a fourth option on the other team now that better suits him" when he actually is leading the other team in scoring. He was the leading scorer here too except now the other star there is actually pulling his weight. Shell, its just a basketball vs. internets thing.

For sure, you still don't get it.

How is he more valuable than guys like Dillon Brooks or Thybulle?

Thybull and Herb are making similar money but Dillon is getting double that. Dillon justifies the money with his offensive production and contributions to wins. What I was talking about is more internal for the Pels. Husky and Tre are getting what 36 and 25 ? and have had marginal results with the team and both pretty bad on the defense, that the NBA is tilting to. Herb's defense is a known quantity for a team that needs help on that side of the ball for 12.

For sure not on board with a fire sale, but two of Husky,Poole,Tre, and Herb are likely not for long. Husky for sure, but unfortunately Herb is probably Pels best trade asset due to his defensive skill and contract. Dumars brought end Poole so he may stay.

I'm not sure why folks are in disbelief of the poor product. This was inevitable with all of the organizations moves to coddle Husky. Again, I'm a big fan of Husky and really hope he gets his health and head together, but his time is up here.

Pels, should look to get back in the first round, get a good young prospect, and a vet who will give them more presence and support in the paint and on the boards. I really like Queen and Fears, they are young and need to get a lot stronger, but have tons of skill and talent. Hopefully Dumars doesn't make the same mistake as the former regime and can instill in them specifically and the the team that they need to be competent and compete on both ends.

Cheddar Chaz is better than him

They're both mid at best. Chaz is hillarious at times though, the Griff Shtick with the bald head mask
For sure, Zion as an off ball cutter, something he is not in condition to do.

Goal is to stay out of the lottery, fwiw Joe knew Pels had lost a lot of talent that had to be replaced. Early results are that Herb,Bey, and Trey really need to settle into their rolls with Fears and Queen being Rookie bright spots. Husky and Queen have been difference makers but Husky needs to keep up! and well Queen is a rookie. What's up with Poole though?

Most trades are not Danny Ainge Fantasy's and because Pels were going to be mid in any state, a gamble makes since if you can start building a foundation. A bunch of Queen and Fears "woe is us" on the board until the last week and a half. If Pels can get a pick, vet, and development prospect for what Pels aren't building around, it could still be a good for the Pels as a franchise.

Turns out Queen is not trash and Fears is pretty good  Can get behind that if only we can get a good player and picks in 26' draft. hmmmmm ....
