Siakam has a 7’3” wingspan
OG 7’2”
Boucher 7’4”

Those are some long baws who can still disrupt when Zion gets into them

That said he scored 15 on 78% from the field and grabbed 10 boards, 4 of the offensive variety

Their gameplan was clearly to disrupt Zion and not let him beat them, and to attack him on D and make him foul. He struggled a bit while still being good.

The more efficient he gets as a passer and the more other teams have to start to respect other players and focus more on BI the better for him.

Which is why it is paramount that he develops a jumper, because right now no defense is taking him seriously outside of under the bucket.

Meanwhile, Ja Morant is putting up 40 points right now.

And his team is losing by double digits to the Spurs.

It’s not always about what somebody does individually. The amount of attention Zion drew tonight was obviously extremely beneficial for our team

Sure, that helped, but it's ok to say Zion was pretty bad tonight with 6 turnovers.

Stop coddling him.

Do you think Ja would do that well against the raptors?

That team we just played is arguably the worst matchup in the league for Zion

He will be fine

Zion turned it over alot, but they were obviously keying in on him and Ingram. Zion can't shoot over everyone like Ingram can, which is why Ingram had the better night.

What Toronto did on Zion allowed everyone else to have great games, that may happen every night, or they may decide to start sagging off and just hoping for the best. Either way, its not a good recipe for a team to beat us.

Probably not.

Never said he wouldn't, but he's got a lot to work on.

No he had an average night. No one ever has a “bad” night with a double double and consistently drawing triple teams

Obviously, a jumper is better than no jumper.

But i don't know that it's necessary, and I think passing and handles are a bit more crucial right now.

Not worried about it yet. Toronto was allowed to get away with hacking Zion like crazy tonight.

Zion didn't play like "arse," but it wasn't a good game for him. He simply has a tough matchup against Siakam, got into early foul trouble which messed up his rhythm, and that's what led to some of the turnovers.

Everyone on our team isn't going to have a great game every game.

Goddamn was there just a shitload to get excited about tonight. I expected Adams to do his part. But Bledsoe surprised me. He looked REALLY comfortable out there.

This is Zion’s 25th career NBA game and first in a new system. On top of a quick turnaround and limited preseason. There’s a lot of sloppy ball being played tonight. So he turned it over 6 times against the 2nd best team at forcing turnovers last year

2.4 and 2.5 TOs per game in college and his rookie year, respectively

The tough matchup wasn't Skiakam. He was beating him off the dribble all night. The issue was when Toronto collapsed 4 guys on him and reaching in and hacking him relentlessly when he was trying to dribble penetrate. Some of his turnovers were his fault but some one them were a result of the refs allowing the raptors to reach in and hack him. You could even see Zion's body language at times during the game when he felt he was fouled. Zion shooting only 4 fts is low for a physical guy like him.
