Apparently Niko's deal with the Spanish team is 6/$80m, so that makes a lot more sense than the ~2/$12m type deal that was reported earlier. I know China has sniped some aging name players by offering more money, but maybe the Euro teams may end up signing some legit players away from the NBA.

And Niko I’m pretty sure has a house and lived in Barcelona part of the year so this is going home, and they play half the games.

No brainer for him.

Yeah we might have an issue with the center position. Doubt we’d get Lopez and outside of those 3 idk who else we’d want that fits the need of a stretch 5. Looney seems like he’s gonna go somewhere else as well

Looney has a meeting lined up with Houston.

We may have to settle there which is not the end of the world considering we have guys that can fill minutes there.

And we may be able to absorb Favors if Jazz need to move him for space.

I like Kleber, but I think Dallas will match anything reasonable, and probably match anything a bit over "reasonable" unless they sign Horford.

If we aren't going after big time free agents, then it wouldn't be a big deal to have our cap space on hold for a few days. Given the lack of available FA bigs that can stretch the floor and run, I'd be down for making him an offer. He kind of feels like the type of player that I'd make a 4 year offer to if he's taking less than, say, $7m/yr. We're looking for mentors, though, so I don't think that he's on our radar.

My hope is that Dallas wouldn't match because they've landed Horford

Looney would go against what Griff said in bringing in a culture vets. I just don’t understand that one plus he’s undersized and not that good. We would definitely be a lottery team if Looney is our starting center.

It has to be Dallas if Horford doesn’t sign with us right?!?

Thats the team I'm expecting, if the rumors are all true. Could be a bunch of smoke. We'll know sometime today. The next 48 hours are gonna be fun. Can't wait to see Griff and Langdon do next.

Its going to be interesting but don’t have my hopes up for any moves by Griff and co. this next 48 hours. I think all the good bigs will be gone in the first two days and we’re left with a Kevin Looney type player.

Do you think this team has a shot at a championship this season?

If the answer is anything but yes than worry about getting to a place where that is the case.

That is the prize, not a 7 seed in year one, not a 4 seed in year 3. A championship.

Anything less and you can start the clock on Zion. That is what we should be building toward. And that is hopefully what Griffin is building toward. You have 8 years with Zion. Winning in year one is not the high watermark.

I think it's Philly, as I said earlier in the thread.

I think that leaves us in a position where, to get another big man, we end up negotiating with the Raptors or Clippers, depending on where Kawhi goes. Either Serge Ibaka or Danilo Gallinari is going to need to be moved.

Darren Collison chose an odd year to retire.

Am I wrong thinking Ibaka would be a great fit with the Pels?

No he’s a stretch big with championship experience. Exactly the kind of player they are looking for.

The Terry Rozier to Charlotte thing appears to have been a hoax.

Not that it was unrealistic for Jordan and his GM to make such a dumb decision.

Then I hope Griff has something worked out in advance if Kawhi picks Tor.

You could probably get Ibaka either way. I think Toronto is gonna blow that roster up if Kawhi leaves.

As for the Kings, the prospect of them landing Dewayne Dedmon is very real. Also, sources tell @TheAthletic Sacramento is ONE OF the secured scenarios for Houston's Clint Capela if Jimmy Butler decides to come Houston's way (the Rockets have more than one; highest bidder wins).
