course Bron will take a cut. He got Bronny on the team and wants to try to get 1 last title chance. He kinda knew that before opting out. That was probably the deal Pelinka worked out with Bron to justify the Bronny pick. Smart. They can get Jonas and satisfy AD and his play PF obsession until small ball closing lineup

You are right on all of this but this would be the first time Bron has ever been willing to take a pay cut.

You can. We did it in the Lonzo trade when Chicago S&T Temple to us with Sato and Charlotte S&T Graham to us in same deal

Why not do this year’s stats over 2022-2023 stats?

I would love to have Tyus jones on our team. I don’t know how much he will cost. Drummond on the vet minimum isn’t bad either

Would be great as the 2nd 5 off the bench and someone who can reliably rebound and create extra possessions.

Drummond is going to get more than the minimum -- probably about $5 million.

Hes really bad. His defensive awareness is complete garbage. In 63 games with the pistons he could only get 6 starts on a team that had the worst collection of players in the league. There really isn’t upside here.

Well, he was with the worst collection of players in the league. That could definitely hinder development. And people said he improved a lot at the end of the season.

He's just 23. Signing him to a near-minimum deal is just like drafting an older player out of college. It's a low-risk play for a guy you're hoping can be a halfway decent backup.

We still need two more centers. I've been saying that we're going to sign one at or close to the minimum right away, because the BI deal will likely play out after the PG13 drama, because teams like the 76ers want PG13 first and BI second.

Players and their agents always want the max and will get insulted if they don’t get it.

that's b/c the max is underpaying the truly elite and is more reflective of a guy like BI or Trae, and the elite know this, now.

There’s no way Philly gives 3 firsts for BI. People are delusional about his value.

The Graham and Ball deals were entirely separate deals.

They were separate deals but to make the money work for everyone it was all rolled into one big arse deal. I think the Adams/Jonas/Trey swap was all a part of it also.

Either way, the main point is you can sign and trade a player along with other players

Pelicans just gave up the equivalent of 3 1sts for Murray and Ingram has more value than Murray…

Which would suck.

I'd want them as far out as possible.

That wouldn’t be an issue. Philly can’t trade any firsts besides McCain, whom they just drafted, for several seasons.

They owe picks in 25 and 27, so I don’t think they can send anything earlier than 29, possibly later depending on protections on 27.

Yup

Any Philly trade would start at Reed, McCain, 28 clips 1st and either 29 6ers first or 31 6ers first, or maybe even both, or one and seconds

I really wanted to go after Tyus Jones if we weren't able to get a PG.

If Tyus is still on our radar and we traded for Murray....

What could that mean for Jose?

Besides Naji/ Val S&T I believe BI + Jose would be the only assets left we would be willing to trade.
