I don’t know how to post pics, but remember that pic from last year at the draft, when Trey Murphy looked about 1 inch shorter than Mark Williams?

Trey is bulking up this offseason as well. Maybe we can play him at the 5 for 10-15 mins a game. We might have to at this rate.

That’s always been my hope. If Trey can play small ball 5, that solves a lot of problems.

We need a minimum of at least 2 nba centers that can play minutes and we have to get them by trading a player with no market. I’m not really sure again what Griff is doing here.

Paul Reed is a workable center for the regular season and just got waived. He could be brought in via MLE.

Getting the second one? That is harder minus expanding the Hawks deal and taking Capela or Ogonkwu.

I agree. I like Reed on this team. Problem is if they wanted to do that, they could have done this early in free agency as well with other centers that were available. Its like everything has been put on hold till the BI deal goes through. Which I don’t get at all.

I’m just mentally preparing myself for Ingram being on this team next year. Griff’s pride will get in the way of dealing him. He doesn’t want to come to terms that he didn’t get much out of the AD trade. After another predictable play-in exit, we’ll be back here next year still scratching our heads.

Don’t let the Murray trade fool you. We’re still in ‘run it back’ mode.

Miami seems interesting. You think they would give up Herro?

Brown got paid first. He was paid more than Tatum.

Did that affect things? No.

It's the nature of how nba contracts are, older vets always can eat up more money.

All things considered. It's not the worst idea, as long as you still get a center.

Well, last season, we played BI at the 5 a lot more than we did Trey, and I thought those possessions worked pretty well. BI has such a stupid-high standing reach that he can front a big and deny the entry pass.

Technically speaking we have a ton of small
Ball 5 potential on this team if you consider Zion, Trey, and Herb

We do definitely need another bigger center that can bang w the JOKIC, Embiid, Sabonis, Sengun, etc

That was one thing J Val definitely was good for. He at least made those centers work on defense and on the boards. Especially Sengun and Sabonis. Embiid and Jokic obviously still cooked him badly on the whole.

Three or four MVP wins between them. How many guys ARE keeping them under control?

Its a bad idea. Trey is due an extension. Its one thing selling him on a backup role, its another selling him on lesser minutes. Having 4 guys that need the ball in their hands as starters to be successful also isn’t a great idea. We probably need 2 NBA rotation centers- where is that coming from?

Thats not even talking about keeping a guy on your roster who we were actively trying to trade and asking him to do whats best for the team. That usually doesn’t work out.

Griff is probably asking Atlanta to give him until the end of July to work out the BI situation
