Soooo, are we really not mentioning Demarcus Cousins? One of the last big names we traded for, who immediately tore an Achilles and was never the same again. Good times.

It crossed my mind, but Cousins had an achilles "rupture" (more severe) and not a "tear". Though we don't know for sure what Murray has yet.

Well, rupture is a tear, just complete. But you’re right, we don’t know how severe.

So brutal to be this injury of all things. My god. We don’t need next season frick age too.

At least this should put to bed the Jose dump.

Cousins also had some other ancillary issues.

His style was becoming less preferred and he rage quit after we didn't give him a huge extension and I think that derailed him mentally (Which was always a huge issue with him). Then he was a merc going for whatever bag he could.

I’m starting to believe this franchise is genuinely cursed

So we lost Dyson Daniels for nothing in the end. Awesome

This is the 2nd time that Zion sat out an unnecessary game (and it caused Dejounte Murray to get injured

We gotta get rid of Z. The trickle down effect his unavailability has on his teammates is insane.

It almost certainly wasn't a good enough team to win a championship, but Jrue/Etwuan/Solo or Cunningham/AD/Boogie would have been really interesting to watch in the playoffs that year. The league was starting to get somewhat deep into the wing/3pt shooting heavy zig, and the Pels said frick it and zagged their asses off. I really think that they would have made some noise, and would have used Solo's contract + picks to upgrade at SF the next offseason.

It was probably Theis sitting out that caused DJ to tear his achilles.

Come on man

Oh I REALLY wanted to see that team at full strength

Just like this year's team.

Story of our franchise.

Just to clarify, my comment above was post-Achilles tear Cousins, though. I was just trying to stress that his issues were more than just physical post-injury.

The butterfly effect is real, especially when key guys sit out for no reason at all.

Zion literally just fired shots at the organization for not letting him play back to backs and then a day later he can’t even be relied upon to play through his “non-covid” illness in a standalone game.

It was my fault for going to the game. I jinxed him accidentally.

Like, seriously, folks. C'mon with the idiotic blame game.

Depends on a player’s game and how they can adjust to it post-injury.

I think Murray is a high enough BBIQ guy that he can adapt and move forward post-injury even if his athleticism takes a hit.

I guess my sarcasm didn’t permeate in that post.

One good thing is DJ doesn’t really rely on athleticism, so he should come back and still play well
