I will go the opposite direction. We aren’t in a position as a franchise to tie up that much cap in a severely flawed player. It would have doomed us for years. It was the right move.

Then you trade him in 6-12 months. Why are yall all acting like this was our only option. We literally held all the cards. We've been discussing this ad nauseam for a year now and everyone was universally in agreement that we couldn't let him walk for nothing. Now that we have, yall are acting like it was our only option. I feel like I'm in the fricking twilight zone right now.

The other players we were discussing in S&T were also guys about to get overpaid. Seems like Griff wanted flexibility, let’s see what he does with it before judging

That is such a horrible sign and trade.

This is a “letting a guy walk”. The trade is noise. Did you like Zo at that price? Instead of other moves you aren’t privy to? At the cost of other signings you aren’t privy to? How the frick could you grade this move without more info?

You don’t get points for being first with your opinion

Tomas Satoransky, Temple, and a 2nd round pick to the Pels

But why? I feel like this is less than nothing in return.

We know nothing right now. Will Sato stay? Will Pels operate above the cap or below? Will this be rolled into Memphis deal?

There is nothing to be upset or be happy about yet. You should have no opinion because you have relatively no info

My question at this point is “Can we potentially turn Satoransky, Temple, or any other players into another deal?”

Satoransky is $10m. He is potentially ballast in another trade if he is either sent by himself or the deal widens up to let more teams take part.

How can he wreck what will already be a lottery season?

And improving Zion, BI, NAW, and Jax, but you have us skated for the lottery already. I bet you are a blast to watch games with.

Even if we weren’t going to match. We had 3 days to look at offers or get better offers

If you don’t think we’ve been listening to offers for the past four weeks, you’re smoking crack.

We were obviously never going to match, Rich Paul wants him out of New Orleans.

We may even end up working this trade to three teams, we have no idea

I'm not generally happy with David Griffin, but I'm not ready to melt yet. Unless something changes, Lonzo is a 3&D wing, not a lead guard. If nothing else happens, he fricked up, but I'll wait.

like seriously--I think I'd be happier with just getting the 2nd back and nothing else.

What's the point of bringing in those 2?

It's like we further helped the bulls make this happen by bringing in their salary cause I don't think they could afford Lonzo if we didn't.

Then trade him when you can get more value, not the value where everyone knows is the least value you will get, an S&T

we dont know what happened or what convos took place at the deadline...but what we can be certain of is that klutch made it as clear as they could than lonzo would not be re-signing with whichever team we traded him to, if we did. thats what they do

Well, this simply did not work out better than trading him at the deadline would have worked.

Better, no, but did it work out worse? Do we know what we were offered at the deadline? Reports were Griff was shopping him and offers were pretty bad.
