They tried to but didn’t get anything worth a shite, while still holding out hope they could make
The playoffs.

David Griffey doesn’t have a plan—damn snake oil salesmen who got lucky in the draft.

Well most of the S&Ts rumored were better than this and they weren’t really good either. Idk hopefully there’s more on the board we’re not seeing yet

I’d have preferred it and just matched and shipped him at the deadline.

This shite sucks.

Then why wouldn't you trade him at the deadline since RFA S&Ts never net much?

to who?
you seeing teams beating down the door for lonzo?

he and klutch wanted the bulls, the bulls agreed.
if they'd matched, they could not have traded him to the bulls this season

Well we should have.

We just got back 3 pieces of near trash and let a desirable player walk.

You don’t get a lot in S&Ts. Y’all relax.

Let’s see what happens. Or just melt
FWIW, I remember you specifically replying to me stating we didn't trade him at the deadline because a S&T option was still available to us.

Well...now we're all playing captain hindsight stating we never going to match him, but if that were the case, why weren't you right alongside me being mad that we didn't trade him at the deadline?

To be fair people are getting tired of waiting to see what happens with this Front Office

Pels held all of the leverage. Most people said they'd be okay at $20 per but he got $21 mil. All pels had to do was match it.

Most people are idiots.
So are the bulls.
I’d rather Garrett temple playing defense and shooting wide open catch and shoot 3’’s than Lonzo.

I wish him the best of luck and hope he keeps getting better, but it would have been absolutely stupid to match that.

I’d bet money in two years his contract won’t be movable without having to give something up. Good player, but just not worth that. He can’t be your third best player, unless you don’t feel like making the playoffs.

He’ll be fine if we win. Having a malcontent on the roster. Creating AD 2.0 all but ends this season.

I’m sure Zion would love that situation.

Yeah I’m sure he’s just ecstatic about turning Lonzo into absolutely nothing too

It ain’t about what we got back, it’s about not overpaying for Lonzo Ball at 21M a year. Chicago is going to regret that deal.

Because the only teams with interest thought they’d have the cap space to sign him so didn’t offer much. Markenann and 2nd(s) was the reported deadline offer. I think Markennan is too one dimensional to be very valuable so I see this as a comparable deal as what was available at the deadline.

We are not in a position as a franchise to let a talent and asset like Lonzo walk out the door for the scraps we just got.

We've all been in agreement about that for months, but now that it's happened, yall are all cool with it. We got fricked.

I have wanted Temple back in LA for awhile, but the deal overall seems dumb.

Gotten something of value or matched the offer. You could always trade the asset (Lonzo) later.
