Again with added draft pick compensation.

You just skip on over the fact that EVERY OTHER TEAM THAT WAS IN ON CJ HAD 1ST ROUND PICK(s) ON THE TABLE IN THE TRADE JUST LIKE WE DID, THE ONLY REASON WE WON OUT WAS BECAUSE WE HAD THE EXPIRING SALARY

So, with the new CBA you think it's better for a team like Utah

You’re the only person that mentioned Utah, I’ve been saying teams like Atlanta that can get max level guys to go there, exactly how my post is written.

If you can attract max level players in free agency AND have the ability to get a multitude of draft picks, you do it. Teams like us, Utah, Memphis etc we have to trade for those guysz

Actually IIRC they let CJ choose where he wanted to go, from the teams that offered comparable deals.

This is said alot by teams to make themselves look good, I don’t put a whole lot of stock into those reports

Another one that needs to read everything stated

Pretty sure I said Utah before you brought up Atlanta? I was choosing choosing a random team that isn't a target location for NBA players, my point is that there are only a handful of teams that have valuable cap space, for the other teams (which New Orleans falls into), it is not valuable to have cap space, because you will not be able to use it on upper tier players. That doesn't mean that expiring contracts are worth zero to a team like New Orleans, just that they aren't worth what they were once thought to be worth.

It wasn't a report, CJ literally stated as much.

This is not NBA2K you can’t force a trade. Other teams have to agree to the trade. By all accounts they persued multiple high level centers HARD but the other teams wouldn’t move them

And literally everything I have been talking about is trading with Atlanta, but somehow you come along and pull Utah out your arse to try to build some sort of gotcha.

However if we are going to talk about Utah, apparently Ainge coveted expiring contracts despite his market since thats what he demanded in Vanderbilt/Russel trade

It's not a gotcha, I was commenting on the value of expiring contracts as a whole. I just used Utah as an example of a team where cap space may not be valuable. You may want to get out of your feelings because you are acting like an emotional lesbian.

Because it's a nice story that makes him look good to the new fans. Portland practically gave away Norm Powell and Robert Covington not long before the CJ trade in an obvious effort to clear cap space. The Knicks and Bulls didn't have what Portland was looking for in return and the Pels did, expiring contracts to bundle with a 1st that they would use to target Jerami Grant. Would the Blazers have let CJ veto a trade, maybe. But it never came to that and the trade that was made appears to be one that both Portland and CJ wanted.

There were three teams that CJ was able to choose from, and he picked us out of the three. It was widely reported at the time, and CJ himself talked about why he chose us (BI).

Fit is horrible and he clogs up the offense.

He does the complete opposite. He creates the open looks and gets dudes wide open.

Too much relying on Zion to just drive to the goal with his left hand only and teams just sag on him because he's no threat to shoot the ball.
And your 6'10 dude is going to be a better passer and more efficient scorer than Zion too while playing better defense?

And yet, the Pels starting lineup seems to be better with Trey and Zion rather than BI and Zion.

You say this like we weren't a 4-seed before BI got hurt and we shite the bed.

I'd argue that was more about Jose being out than BI.

I dont understand why people find this hard to believe but its facts. The plus/minus for the whole season shows you this.

But we can't just run it back with BI. We can't punt, because the time for waiting is over.
I'm just not seeing it if we make the playoffs.

And for everyone talking about how cheap Gayle is, the truth is that they have to have a lot of confidence in him to become a superstar to pay him what they're going to have to pay him to keep him.

That's the other big reason that I don't see us keeping Ingram.
They have to have a lot of confidence in him....like making him the face of the franchise and #1 option for half the season and the dude who is always announced last in the starting lineup when none of that remotely makes sense with Zion around, that type of confidence in him?

Why do they do this? Like some of the dumb stuff we do I feel like is just based on dumb internal relationships or picking favorites. Like this is a sports business of winning not pick whoever is your friend and make him the lead guy. Its just weird arse bullshite.

It's about leadership. Guys like Jose and Naji look at BI as a big brother.
