If the guy can't create for himself and others, DO NOT WANT. Why do we need to solve this problem this summer?

I just don't see the point of adding another guy who can't create and/or pass. Let's see what QPon can give us for 3 mil first.

Basically, I go after Batum, Parsons, and Dudley and if I miss out I go cheap and/or 1 year deal only and look at the deadline, look at the draft, and look again next year

Starting to feel that we should sign Solomon Hill and maybe Lance Stephenson.

Watched film work on Hill and seems like he's coming into his own. Solid defender, offensive game developing and won't break the bank. Offer him the starting SF spot and 8-10 a year. I think he fits what we need without breaking the bank.

As for Lance, if he will come in and compete, not be a headache and solidify the 2nd team, I'd be all for it.

All Lowe said they will nearly match any offer on Crabbe. So it seems they are more willing to let Leonard and Harkless go. Looking at the teams interested in Crabbe Kings, Sixers, and Nets he will get over paid. So it come down to will they be OK to over pay both. They also want to sign a big FA because after this season they won't be able to with CJ new contract approaching.

Ok. I'm down.

maybe Lance Stephenson.

frick that.

If we could swing some combo of a Hill/Dudley/Nicholson offseason I'd be ok with it.

Regarding Hill:

quote:

The Tribune has learned the former Arizona star is seeking anywhere between $9 and $13 million per year, and multiple teams are willing to meet that number.

13 mill for Solomon Hill, a very, a very unproven guy?

You never watched Lance then. I'm not getting wanting Tyreke clones on this team. If you want go get rid of a ball dominant player do replace him with another.

Well that's what you call a superstar usually. We probably aren't going to find that for under $20M a year, unless we draft them.

I don't think we do. Quite frankly, i'd rather see us stink it up again and get another top 10 draft pick, get rid of all of these losers and start fresh with the new draft pick, AD and Buddy, maybe Jrue.

I like this approach as well. Either get someone that you know can be part of the future, or don't waste the money.

.Hawks only currently have $14.67m in cap space currently. This is before rescinding the rights of any of their free agents.

so that's not really what the number is. Horford/Hinrich/Bazemore aren't on the books b/c they are free agents.
they have over $40M in cap space. They don't have to move anything to sign Bazemore. They could sign Dwight and Bazemore without moving anything most likely.

That isn't the case. They have 38 in "Practical Cap Space" if they get rid of all holds including Horford's, rescind all QOs, etc etc etc.

That's only Batum and Parsons. Batum looks like he's staying and with Parsons knees and our staff I pass. Bazemore isn't even a shot creator to be honest. I also thought the whole part of this offense was to create open looks.

Q struggles at defending 3s and Harmless can defend the 3/4 and has room to grow while still being as young as Hield.

They have $38 if they keep Mike Scott's 3.3M and Muscala's 1M, which are both team options.

They are not going to rescind Horford's rights as long as they have a chance to re-sign him.

I am all for go big or stay flexible. Would like to see Batum or Parsons though imagine that's not happening. I would be reluctant to give Dudley 3 years at $12M though with previous back injury + age + I don't see him defending 3's well (good defensive PF, great shooter, and great leader though)

What do you think of making a run at Fournier? I know Orlando probably keeps him, but age-wise he fits this team well and can create for himself. Respectable defender of 2, but short wingspan and frame makes defending 3's more of a challenge.

I think Batum, Parsons, and Fournier aren't even realistic options. I think the only guys we actually have a chance at are Dudley (who's a pf now don't know ppl still thinks he's a 3), Bazemore, Hill, and Harkless.

I'd take Harkless. Has he improved his shooting?

Honestly I'm looking at the numbers and I say we wait until next year, which is praised as one of the best FA classes of all-time

Currently we will only have

AD- 21 M
Asik- 10 M
Ajinca- 4.8 M
Pondexter- 3.6 M
Cunningham- 3 M

Hield and Diallo on rookie contracts plus whoever we draft in 2017

Evans, Holiday, both have their contracts expire

And with the room you can make runs at Chris Paul, Giannis, and Gordon Hayward

We cant just keep saying wait til next year to spend money because who thinks any of those big name guys would come here. I think we have a way better chance getting Parsons then any of those guys next year

We haven't waited since Demps has been here and we have seen the result.

Personally if we were a more long term thinking organization you would make a run at Batum, if it fails, you fill the roster this season with low risk, movable assets that can get you through the season and maybe sneak into an 8 seed. Which if healthy should be doable.

Then position yourself to strike next offseason when the teams reputation has improved and you have the means and ability to sign a true major impact FA and take the next step toward being a contender.

But my thing is even if we made the 8th seed do you think a major free agent will come here I'm just saying if we could get Parsons I wouldn't pass that up to hope we get a better player next year
