Seems the Hawks have about $40m in cap space if my math is correct. So, odds are, Bazemore sticks around even if they offer a max contract to someone.

ETA: According to HoopsHype...who doesn't factor in cap holds and draft picks

They don't have Bird Rights on Bazemore, just Early Bird Rights which means they can only go up to roughly $5.6 million.

I don't think that's the case.

So are the Hawks choosing between Horford and Dwight?.

It's not...like I said HoopsHype didn't factor in cap holds and draft picks...

While, again, I'm overly positive...I think they have something more along the lines of $20m in cap space after factoring all of that up...so if they lose out on Horford and sign Howard, who I would think gets $18m min...they won't get Bazemore

Actually it appears the Vertical now has salary cap pages for each team which they update real-time...Hawks only currently have $14.67m in cap space currently. This is before rescinding the rights of any of their free agents.

They'll have to move some things around to re-sign Bazemore.

Slightly undersized SF (more of a 2/3 swing), has a very long wingspan, good defender for his size, has developed a good 3 pt shot (especially catch and shoot), is versatile, and most importantly maybe is he is very durable.

solid SG-SF tweener who had a couple of solid years when he got minutes. He is a decent shooter, decent rebounder, decent passer, and decent defender. Nothing that is "over the top", pretty much flat out average-slightly above average.

Still pretty young, will turn 27 on july 1st.

Issue: Short for a SF, 6'5

Otherwise, he's a decent SG/SF who is going to get decent money. Anything more than 15mil than I'd say no.

Here's a good write up on him. LINK

He's a good 3 and D wing who's main question is his size. He also has previous connections with Erman when he was a coach at Golden State and Danny Ferry who signed him with the Hawks. So it's not at all surprising that he seems to be one of the guys we want.

I wonder how much Lance Stephenson will cost?

I imagine his value has taken a huge hit, despite playing well for 26 games in Memphis. He might be a good buy low candidate if what he did in Memphis is representative of where he is now. But considering he was much more efficient than his career averages and even peaks years, it's probably a Small Sample Size Mirage like good Norris Cole.

Small project guy I would love to pick up is Damian Ingles. I was a big fan when he was drafted and he hasn't really gotten much opportunity but he could be one of those guys where you try to find the next Bazemore as opposed to paying the current Bazemore

I'll beat this drum again I rather Harmless at 12-13 than Base at 17-18. The Blazers will have to pay Crabbe 18 so they may not want to over pay harkless also.

I love how Bazemore is short for a SF, and Buddy is short for a SG, yet they are the same exact height without shoes, Bazemore has a 2" advantage on wingspan at 6'11", and Buddy outweighs him by 10lbs.

I guess Buddy can play SF too.

I like Bazemore b/c he can play the small ball 3 with Jrue and Buddy at the 1 and 2, AD at the 5, and we need to find that 3/4 guy(next years draft)
