Another thought crossed my mind, which has great and grave implications:
Grave: Our FO knows that Jrue's injuries are going to keep coming up and we need to move on at PG.
Great: Our FO knows that Jrue's injuries are going to keep coming up, but our medical staff is borderline retarded and everything they think is wrong. Replacing them, we'll realize that Jrue is 100% and good to go as a fringe all-star and legit 2b option on a contender.

Wouldn't mind Conley on a reasonable deal, but Gordon can GTFO.
The only hole this team doesn't have is starting PF. Everything else is suspect.

Even if we are interested in conely he won't be interested in us

True story.
Our problem is no one wants to play here unless they're drafted and/or we can pay/overpay them more than anyone else.

You have to build a winning reputation, one we don't have right now

There are some other possibilities though.
Grave: It always seemed weird how they kept Jrue in a 6th man role much of last season. corndeaux speculated a reduced minutes role might just be something Holiday has to do to keep his career going. That's not all bad news though. Holiday did excel in that role and if being a long term starter is off the table he should be cheaper to resign.
Great: Conley makes Jrue expendable and Jrue seemed to be in demand at the trade deadline. Sign Conley and then trade Jrue and a 1st for Middleton could be one possible motivation.
It's all fantasy though, I can't see Conley having interest in us, it'd seem like a lateral move at best. The only ace up our sleeve is Gentry. He has a track record to sell both Conley and Batum that the playmaker in the system he runs often gets MVP consideration.

13 mill for Solomon Hill, a very, a very unproven guy?
I'd be good with 4 years 40 mil, starting at 9.34 mil in the first year. 4th year partially guaranteed and a player option. I wonder if he'd get something better than that.

The Conley stuff is BS, but yes they would be open to Gordon on a short term deal if the price is right. He has told all the FA's the same thing- that they should explore and come back after they do to see if there is something that works for both sides

Do you know if there is anyone they plan on being super aggressive with and offer them tonight
Posted on 6/30/16 at 8:54 am to BSB1988
Batum and Parsons will get offers tonight. Perhaps Bazemore too

Any thoughts on these:
1.I've seen a little smoke on Lin. Anything to that?
2. Order of preference: SF then backup guard then back up big

How does that work? You hit Batum first, he says no then you go to Parsons, or do you throw both max offers out at the same time and take the one that says yes first?

I was told priorities go:
1. SF
2. Backup Guard
3. Backup Big
So Lin is a possibility for #2, but will be out of our price range if the SF we sign is a 18-22 mil per year guy. If you get a cheaper SF, you might be able to get Lin if you dump or stretch Tyreke. And yes, stretching him is a real option

I think we need a backup big more than a backup guard.
We have no backup 4 right now. and Asik sucks.
we at least have guards from last year that are cheap that can fill roster spots behind Jrue/QPon/Hield/FA/Dante
We only have AD/Asik/Ajinca down low. I doubt our 2nd rounder will play a minute this year, unless someone gets hurt.
Now i'd rather spend the money in that order you listed, but it's SF first, backup big next in terms of need, imo.

Have you heard anything about Tyreke having a setback with his knee because they had someone post here yesterday that he did and would be out until December at the earliest

Crewz, any thoughts on my euro thread? Are there any rumblings of Euro guys (including Murcans playing in Europe) that may be signed?
