Bet the Lakers in a 4 game parlay. The first 3 legs won and cashed out when the lakers were up by 8 because I knew they’d blow it. Tripled my money and got to savior this epic collapse.
F the Lakers.
F the Lakers.

Wait, the Lakers lost?
I tried to go to sleep for the past hour or so assuming the Lakers would finish them off, couldn't sleep and saw this post, quite good news there. That's good stuff.

The lakers really needed to post a winning record in November to having any shot of the play in.
They are now 6-7 on the month. Thank you Utah and Ben Mathurin for exceeding all expectations and continuing the Clappening.

Lost in this is watching their main trade targets (Turner & Hield) triumphantly run off the court with their current team
Not exactly the "we're desperate to get off this loser and go to L.A." narrative they've been hoping for

The Lakers were 347-0 when leading by 17+ points in the 4th quarter over the last 20 seasons entering tonight (reg & post).
They were the only NBA team that hadn't lost a game in that situation over that time.

With the way all those teams are playing, I’m not sure I even see 3 wins in there

I had a small bet on the Lakers -2.5 last night, went to bed and they were up by 14. Checked my account this morning to see no winnings in there, and thought to myself “they better have effing lost.”

Watching Halliburton fire that team up in the locker room post-game just makes me hate the Kings even more...
although I seem to remember if Halliburton was there that we planned to trade out of the pick (that might be from Crewz though)

Yup rumors were we were trading down with Dallas for #18 and a future 1st or maybe Brunson and we would take Maxey

Man I wanted Haliburton, still can’t believe he dropped that far. But from what was said, Griff wasn’t keeping him so that woukd have pissed me off more.

Yeah I'm not seeing a lot of wins there.
The easy part of their schedule is over. And a lot more games with not as much rest. Look for the injuries to start piling up for LeBitch and Ruffles.

I have to think Haliburton and Mathurin have changed the calculus for the Pacers. Those guys are 22 and 20 respectively and look like the next great nba backcourt and significantly raise the floor on how bad the pacers can be.
Both will provide good value for several years. I think they would still love to move Heild, but I’m not sure they will look to move Turner for no purpose other than moving Heild. They are either extracting this picks from the lakers, using Turner to deliver a playoff experience for their young guards, or trading him for real assets to another team looking to win a championship this year (e.g. the Warriors).

Story on the loss in The Athletic
How did the Lakers lose to the Pacers in shocking fashion? ‘Everything went wrong’
How did the Lakers lose to the Pacers in shocking fashion? ‘Everything went wrong’
quote:
LOS ANGELES — The Lakers’ 116-115 loss to the Indiana Pacers was a masterclass in how to blow a lead in the fourth quarter.
“Everything has to go wrong in order for you to lose a game like that,” LeBron James said. “And everything went wrong.”
The Lakers held a 17-point lead with 9:27 remaining in the fourth quarter, having opened the frame on a quick 8-0 run to seemingly blow the game open. They were firmly in control and headed for an important win ahead of their upcoming six-game East Coast road trip.
“(Indiana) was ready, in my opinion, ready to quit,” Anthony Davis said. “We let them back in the game.”
From the 9:26 mark of the fourth quarter, the Pacers outscored the Lakers 32-14, including 15-5 over the final three minutes. At the buzzer, rookie Andrew Nembhard drilled a game-winning 3-pointer to rip out the Lakers’ heart.
quote:
The Lakers’ effort-related problems that have stymied them all season — allowing offensive rebounds, failing to get stops in transition, and stalling offensively with a lead — each reared their ugly heads at the same time.
First-year head coach Darvin Ham put the blame on himself afterward, admitting he could’ve managed the game better down the stretch, particularly the team’s offensive woes. The Lakers shot 8-for-22 (36.4 percent) in the final frame. James, who had 21 points and seven rebounds, shot just 2-for-8 (25 percent).
“I wish we would have been a lot more aggressive, continued playing with pace,” Ham said. “That falls on me. I’ll take responsibility for that.”
quote:
There was far too much Westbrook over the final few minutes of this game. He had played well until that point, but should still be a distant third option behind James and Davis. The Lakers allowed him to run the offense despite that disrupting the team’s flow. That’s on Ham to either sub Westbrook out or ensure the ball gets in James’ or Davis’ hands.
quote:
That’s another reason why Monday’s loss was a step backward for the Lakers. Teams inevitably make mistakes and collapse, but this was an inexcusable performance. They should’ve won this game, even after it got close. This was a gut-punch loss that sapped the momentum they had been building.
“This one stings for sure,” Davis said. “The way we lost, it was all self-inflicted wounds.”

Imagine blowing a 17 point lead in the final 9 minutes and talking about how the other team was "ready to quit"
Posted on 11/29/22 at 10:20 am to shel311
To be fair, he is an expert on quitting.

Hopefully this epic collapse breaks this team for good.

If they don't beat PDX it's gonna be a bloodbath for them over that stretch. PDX is on a back-to-back and probably won't have Dame.
