If a band I only marginally like comes to DFW but is playing the Loft, I'll go. I love that venue.

Kessler is an outstanding venue, but it has a definitely older vibe. Which... well, the truth hurts. Love the Kessler.

I think the Granada is way overrated, and it has a pretty awful design that creates a bottleneck, and usually has the worst patrons with terrible etiquette. Also, the balcony has lousy views. Give me Trees any day over the Granada.

Saw my first show there a couple weeks ago with Devin Townsend Project and was very impressed. I haven't sat on the balcony yet, but the floor was great for a show.

Never had any of those problems at Grenada.....and I've seen a couple hundred shows there. Only sat in the balcony once though. My biggest complaint with a Grenada is the sound system is too bass heavy and boomy. Good for Rock but sucks for more subtle bands like Trampled by Turtles. Greensky Bluegrass is playing there soon and I am skipping them because of the shitty sound system.

And the Kessler can be a retirement home, especially when they have a bunch of tables on the floor.

It closed a couple of years ago. It hosted a lot of great bands, but I wouldn't say it was a great venue. It did have that dive bar thing going on, which I loved.

Saturn replaced it as kind of the venue to book tons of up & coming bands. It's also a little bigger and is able to get some bigger name acts - Built To Spill, Heartless Bastards, and a few others I'm forgetting.

Current state-TX The Bomb Factory. THE BEST music venue in the DFW area BY FAR. Nothing else comes close.

Former state-LA One Eyed Jacks
Greatest venue that I am praying comes back-State Palace Theater. Incredible place to see a show.

I went dumb for a minute... for some reason I just thought of the main big places.

I do like iron city and Saturn. The alabama is beautiful, but the sound is always just a little off.
