The Animals, good one. And then to keep the Eric Burdon theme going, War would most definitely fit into that specific conversation as well. Very underrated.

Spoon came to mind for me. Has released nothing but good to great material since 1998 in an era where so many indie rock bands have come and gone. One of the most consistent and long lasting bands of this era.

Agreed, my friend.
I will also add:
At the Drive-In
Fugazi
Sparklehorse
Doves
Sleep
High on Fire(for me, by far the most underrated)

I would just like to add Soul Asylum to the list of underrated bands.

Should’ve made millions and went platinum. Going to see them in Nashville in October.

“The Producers“
Loved their stuff, never understood how they didn’t crush it nationally. Complex but catchy, great vocals, etc.

Skynyrd. The more I listen the more I realize how good they actually were. They get a bit pigeonholed as southern rock but they had it all from great lyrics to an amazing voice singing them that went long with some of the tastiest licks ever written. The three guitar attack sort of undervalued them individually as guitarists but all of 4 guys could have led a band. The case can easily be made that they are the best American band ever.
The Kinks are also a good one.

Hey Moontigr, I am also a big fan of the Animals. All of the songs that you had links to are good, but my favorite song by the Animals is When I Was Young.

Most underrated band of all time? I would go with Savatage.

I'll add Rod Stewart and Faces. Should be up there not too far behind Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Cream, Dylan, etc
