I run ACC rods, and BnM's as well as others, from 16ft down to 6'6", once we started casting a few years ago, the long rods stay home (mainly). My favorite is a ACC 6'6", have several. I dont line up on a fish, my foot never stops all day sweeping back and forth until I see a fish, if the fish is 30...

re: School me on best rain gear to wear while fishing?
Posted by MTG325 on 3/5/24 at 8:29 am
I run the 100mph Gore Tex from Bass Pro. We fish all day in the rain and stay dry. It’s the only rain gear I have owned that works all day. I have piles Frog Toggs and other brands that are either ripped or don’t work. They aren’t cheap but no good equipment is....
re: Raptors vs Power pole

I run power poles, with the drift paddles. Livescoping Crappie, you can move fast, then drop them, putting on the brakes. Also helps in the wind.
One time I lost the hydraulics on one of them, the pole fell on I-20 heading to Toledo Bend. Concrete ate the stinger up, Power Pole sent me a new one ...
re: Roofing company recommendation?
Posted by MTG325 on 1/19/24 at 3:39 pm
There are still some roof’s in Bossier after the hail storm in 2020 that are half way done, with bundles of shingles still sitting on the roof. Homeowners signed contracts with non licensed roofing contractors. The permit office stopped by the job site and shut the crews down until they pulled a per...

We have several behind our house, one used to come up and eat french fries. I was in the backyard one day and a baby Fox ran across the yard and ran straight into the swimming pool. I had to get him out, he looked at me then took off again. I should have tried to raise as a pet....

re: DIY livescope pole ideas?
Posted by MTG325 on 12/18/23 at 4:29 pm
Looking for ideas on constructing a metal pole rather than using pvc. Maybe by using galvanized pipe or metal conduit. PVC only as a last resort. Anyone here ever made their own metal livescope pole, or if made with pvc then how did you strengthen it to keep it from bending when trolling or in curre...
re: DIY livescope pole ideas?

Mount it to the troll motor. Lots of new Livescopers mount the transducer to a pole, then realize the troll motor is the only way to go. We put the long poles up years ago and mainly cast with 7 ft. rods. We once had an old troll motor we gutted and mounted transducer to the pole with no foot, still...
