I've hated The Eagles (long before that horrible movie)

Same here and now it's like I want to try to like them because of that.

Seven Bridges Road is about as far as I can go.

For me it’s U2

If it wasn't for Bono being a huge douchebag, they might be more popular.

I hate both Zep and post-Syd Floyd -- but that's not what this thread is about

What I don’t get are the people who don’t get that. Like they’re personally put upon by the fact that some people really like this band that they themselves don’t care for. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like what they do but you should at least respect the fact that they’re really good at what they do. They deliver for their fans and I respect that.

You could put food, drink, movies etc in there.
I agree with you. Some people can’t look beyond the end of their noses admiring their own opinions.

I agree, you don't have to like them, but Bruce and the E Street band definitely had some talent.

My gripe is bands that were complete rip offs. I'll never give credit to that.

I’m going to get hammered, but…

The Beatles.

Their early music is annoyingly repetitive. Their later music is just drug-induced droning.

I also gravitate away from just about any band/artist who is that universally loved. It’s just cliche to label them as an influence, etc.

Well everybody is entitled to their opinion, even if it is terrible.

Not liking something because everyone else does is no better than liking something because it's popular. In either scenario, you're allowing other people to dictate your opinions. Like what you like and don't like what you like. The only bearing popularity should have is that something popular might get introduced to you sooner.
