Ghost- I know they have a huge following, but they seem like a sh!tty Blue Oyster Cult. The mask shtick is stupid.

Queens of the Stoneage- Not a fan of the poor attempt to sing.

Billy Eilish- mumble,mumble- whisper whisper- I don't want to be depressed with you.

Anthrax- Vinny Joey and Bobby from the Bronx should have stayed in the quicky lube business. How are they members of the big 4 tour??? Do not like one bit!

you don't understand how nirvana was popular or you just want to sound edgy by not liking them?

Nothing edgy about it. I have never liked their music and don't see why anyone would.

Agree. I don't know many songs by them, but the ones I've heard all sound the same.

Yea, early U2 like Boy, War, October and Unforgettable Fire albums were damn good......we like our anthemic ballads back then. After that they became progressively unlistenable.

Joshua Tree?
Achtung Baby?

I should have kept reading the thread before I replied. Can't help those without taste.

One band I haven't seen mentioned yet is The Black Keys. Hipster douchebag wannabe blues posers.

Anthrax with John Bush as lead singer is far better than Anthrax with Joey Belladonna. And I say this is as a hardcore thrash metal fan. That is how bad I feel about Joey.

My party years were in the 80's and there is a lot I can add to this list:

Duran Duran
U2
Tears for Fears
REM
Depeche Mode
Eurythmics
Culture Club
Huey Lewis
Wham
Night Ranger

ALL are like nails on a chalkboard. I just never could understand their popularity. Was a depressing amount of popularity for music during the 80's. There was plenty to hang onto hope with, but those bands mentioned above were the devil

Really?

Post-Syd Floyd is uncomplicated but pretentious, for an uncomplicated but pretentious audience. Sort of like a UK Steely Dan, their fans can pat themselves on the back with how intellectual they are.

Jimmy Page realized high pitched vocals and guitar shredding would drive the adolescent male audience crazy.

It would be more surprising if these bands were not popular

I like REM, even if they were a blatant copy of The Byrds

As for the others...

You really can't understand why a pretty boy-clotheshorse dance act like Duran Duran was popular?
