Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. I will never understand how they are so adored. I do not get it.

I'd say that about 95% of the bands billed on When We Were Young fits this description for me.
I was in hs when most of those bands were popular, so it makes sense to me.
Even growing up as rural as I did, basically anyone who wasn’t a jock or a preppy girl listened to pop punk and emo bands, but it wasn’t “cool” to do so, especially if you were a guy.

I didn’t understand Springsteen growing up because all my oldest brother listened to was 80’s springsteen. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I started listening to the early stuff. I really appreciate his lyrics in those earlier albums. He paints such a vivd picture with his words, it feels so romantic like a grand working class adventure.

That seems about right for a female Rush fan.

Yea, early U2 like Boy, War, October and Unforgettable Fire albums were damn good......we like our anthemic ballads back then. After that they became progressively unlistenable.

Loved their early stuff. I guess the last thing they did that I liked was Van Daemen's Land. Not 1 thing since that.

Huey Lewis & The News were the 80's version of 50's music.
Not to make a blanket statement, but if you like 50's doo-wop I don't know how you couldn't appreciate HL&TN.
