Fleetwood Mac
When they put out the album “Fleetwood Mac” in '75, the band was stagnant.
Imo, it's still their best album.

The Allman Brothers' Back Where it All Begins in 1994... got air play on classic rock radio, great album.

Hawkwind had Lemmy and were the first to do the song Motorhead. It's a neat laid back version with a freakin' sax of all things: Motorhead

Rolling Stones . A Bigger Bang in 2005. Very underrated although a somewhat overtly political. Also Voodoo Lounge in 1994....maybe their best since the early 70's when everything they put out was great
so true...Voodoo Lounge is almost flawless, a bigger bang would have been a all time classic if it came out as a album format with about 9 or 10 songs. The only knock on Bigger bang is it's too long

It blows my mind every time I think that metal god Lemmy fricking Kilmister was in Hawkwind, possibly the hippiest band of all time.

Great call on King Crimson, OP.
Queensryche - last few records with new singer Todd La Torre have been fantastic.
Judas Priest - 2018's Firepower compares favorably to anything they've done.
Deep Purple - Surprisingly good records recently.

I’d submit Black Sabbath’s ‘Heaven And Hell’ and even ‘Mob Rules’ as great later year albums.
Hell yes!!!
I would add Tempo Of The Damned by Exodus. 20 years after they formed and the first album following a hiatus. It’s a thrash masterpiece.

What is Aerosmith's "classic" period?
They went years between their two distinct eras.

Incredible album. So much great guitar work and so vocally melodic. I want to sing along to practically every song. Been a LONG time since I’ve bought an album that I can’t stop listening to.

Van Halen: A Different Kind Of Truth
DLR returns to the fold. It's not another Fair Warning or Women & Children First, but after several missteps over the years, they ended their career with a solid album that exceeded many folks' expectations.

KISS - Revenge 1992. 13 years after Dynasty and the end of the heyday.

Not quite on par with what they released with DLR back in their prime but much better than expected.

What a fantastic album! Its pretty crazy to think how much the band changed from Peter Green to Danny Kerwan to Bob Welch...all the way through to the "Buckingham/Nicks" version that was introduced via this album.
Of course Rhiannon and Landslide are huge hits for Stevie Nicks, but Christine McVie is such an important contributor for this album. Her lead vocals and her harmonies with Lindsey Buckingham are all over the record and such an important part of the sound. For example, you never really heard Sugar Daddy or World Turning anywhere but they are masterful deep cuts.
