Completely unnecessary and would be a huge mistake.

Well, they remade these movies:
Point Break
Red Dawn
Psycho
Hell Boy
The Pink Panther
Overboard
Footloose
Jacobs Ladder
Arthur

Unnecessary and a huge mistake.

Remake would never happen but to play along there is no doubt they will cast Tom as a POC.

Why stop there? They have already shown that family doesn't have to be same color. Diversity all around! And don't forget the gays and trans people. White/Italians would be in the minority here for sure.

And that's why you don't want anything they are selling right now, especially something like the Godfather.

And never have I been more certain of what I would find when clicking on a blind link. Good one.

Why would this be great?

The irony is not lost on me as I type this post on an iPhone on a social media forum, but too much technology and social media has ruined the world. It would most certainly ruin the perfection that is The Godfather.

Just Imagine JJ Abrams with the financial backing of Disney working on a ‘modern’ adaption of The Godfather that reflects the world that we live in today.

What could possibly go wrong?

Vito - communist fighting back against capitalism
Tom - black
Michael - gay liberal, Peace Corps veteran
Kay - Ken
Sonny - outspoken conservative (MAGA-type, pedophile)
Fredo - outspoken conservative (LGBTQ basher - comes out as trans in Part II)
Connie - outspoken 4th wave feminist
Carlo - outspoken conservative (notorious philanderer and wife beater), killed by Connie (who also has Jason Bourne-like fighting skills) after being pushed to her limits

I think we might have something here, boys.

Look at the rap version of Gatsby and that will give you a good idea of what a new Godfather would be like

With the addition of progressive, non-binary casting of course

who would finance a remake? Shareholders would raise hell as well.

The mob turf has been trod over so much by Sopranos, Goodfellas, and other shows that there is not much new ground to plow.

Why would you mess with this?
It’s like remaking jaws, gone with the wind, platoon, etc
