Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN's Adam Rittenberg has reported that former LSU head coach Les Miles has filed a lawsuit against the school. He claims that LSU's decision to vacate his wins has cost him the chance to qualify for the College Football Hall of Fame.

In June 2023, LSU vacated 37 wins from 2012 to 2015 because of recruiting violations while Miles was head coach.

Coaches must have a career-winning percentage of .600 in at least 100 games to qualify for the College Football Hall of Fame. The vacated wins dropped Les Miles' career coaching record to 108-73 (.597).

Well 37 wins are our wins. That is forever erased from our total. Did we get to keep the losses. Lol

this just banned him from any acknowledgement of ever being affiliated with LSU. what an idiot. clueless when he coached and now clueless about ever being a part of LSU again. they should make sure they vacate every single victory except 1....the NATTY with Prick Saban's recruits

Serves him right. All the talent that he had when he was here and how he squandered it with his hardheaded decisions. Maybe if he had won a few more games instead of losing 3-7 to Auburn or by the last second spike to Ole Miss or after leading 21-0 to UT at home or to Kentucky in 3OT....

This is one of the goofiest lawsuits and because we lived through the Les years, doesn't surprise many of us at all. He certainly has no humility or self-awareness. A poster mentioned it yesterday and even though we wouldn't win, it would be equally as goofy to serve Les with a class action lawsuit from LSU. It may make him a bit more self-aware. A precedent could be 'laws that forbid misleading fans/consumers with deceptive or false information.

If there was a law like that then most cosmetics companies would go outta biz.

This is probably good or us. LSU can go to the NCAA and say we have this crazy ex coach suing us. Is there any way to un-vacate these wins? It provides a potential avenue to regain those wins without friction with the NCAA. I think it is unlikely that Miles actually takes it to court as that would be bad for everyone and he would almost certainly lose that case.

So can we just “un-vacate” the wins, since vacating wins is imaginary anyway?

I think he would only need a few of the imaginary vacated wins to be imaginarily un-vacated. I'm not sure if it's LSUs imagination or the NCAAs imagination that could make this happen.

Should fans sue for his no coaching job in the championship against Bama?

I’d be in his corner if he would have let Russel Shepard throw just ONE fricking pass

I’m pro Lesticles on this one. Bama cheated all the time in recruiting. You think Saban will vacate wins?

He would have been gone a lot sooner had it not been for the low standards, "10 Wins, Baby!!" crowd. The first thing he needs to do is acknowledge that without Saban's tenure at LSU, he'd have 0 (ZERO) NC's.

Idk about that and it could also be said without Sabans tenure at Alabama Miles would have likely had 4 or 5 here.

w/o Saban's tenure at LSU he prob isn't at Bama in 2011. We would've played OK St and won a nati there.

Les Miles needs someone in his corner to tell him to shut the frick up and not embarrass himself! This could get ugly!

Good. It was stupid of LSU to vacate those wins.

If he had the 60% win percentage, what makes him think that he would get in?

He had a history of having great talent and an outdated offense.

If Reggie can get his trophy back, I don’t see why we can’t unvacate wins.

But what are the damages here? Does he get money for getting in the CFB HOF?

I think these vacated wins and other strong arm tactics by those piss ants at the NCAA will be reversed in time. Les ought to wait 5 years and check back then.
