Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
ESPN's Adam Rittenberg has reported that former LSU head coach Les Miles has filed a lawsuit against the school. He claims that LSU's decision to vacate his wins has cost him the chance to qualify for the College Football Hall of Fame.

In June 2023, LSU vacated 37 wins from 2012 to 2015 because of recruiting violations while Miles was head coach.

Coaches must have a career-winning percentage of .600 in at least 100 games to qualify for the College Football Hall of Fame. The vacated wins dropped Les Miles' career coaching record to 108-73 (.597).

LSU didn’t make him go 3-18 at Kansas.

Fair lawsuit - dumb to vacate wins.

Good. It was stupid of LSU to vacate those wins.

If Reggie can get his trophy back, I don’t see why we can’t unvacate wins.

He's right. This is something a problem Scott Woodward has, he overreacts and over corrects. He did it with Miles and he did it with Guice. Dude erased Guice from LSU history like he some kind of genocidal dictator, yet all charges were dropped.

NCAA demands their pound of flesh. Better to sacrifice guys like Miles than let them come for the whole school.

He did it with Wade, too.

Les can't win this, he can't put a good offense together

Good. Vacating wins is hilariously stupid and moronic. Also, LSU deserves to pay the price for its administration’s continual cowardice and rolling over to be the NCAA’s bitch every time the NCAA flexes its muscles at LSU. We should be giving the NCAA the bird and obstructing what they do instead. That’s what many programs have already done, LSU is has too many pussies in charge to do something like that.

Maybe the courts will force LSU to reclaim the wins.
Sorry NCAA, we tried to self-impose and the courts wouldn't let us.

In his defense, vacating wins is stupid. We all know who won the games and the HOF will look at more than just wins and losses

I think these vacated wins and other strong arm tactics by those piss ants at the NCAA will be reversed in time. Les ought to wait 5 years and check back then.

His wasting of many top WRs to execute toss-dives excluded him from hall of fame.

He missed 0.600 by 1 game. If he gets one more win or just coached one less game then he would have it.
Also from 2012-2015 he had 37 wins (which were thrown out) but also had 14 losses (which were strangely NOT thrown out). If you just throw out the entire seasons then he is easily over 0.600.

Well, I can think of more than one game that his coaching should have cost us.

That's an interesting point you bring up about not tossing out the L's. Wonder why they do that. All or none should be vacated.

I can think of more than one where it did! Still I Loved me some Les because he was Not going to change for Anyone! I respect a man with a pair

Vacating wins is dumb. Going to Kansas to get your head kicked in for three years and ruining your football record (shitheadedness aside) is what put you in this situation.

Good point he ought to go sue Kansas

It's all LSU's fault and has nothing to do with Les being an average coach every year after 2011. Should have spent more time trying to run a modern offense instead of chasing around girls that just graduated high school.

Let's say everything Miles says is true. What exactly is the measure of damages for not making the hall of fame, and what does Les want us to do about it now? What's done is done.

Pretty sure he wants LSU to un-Vacate “His” Wins!

Maybe you if you had adapted to the game Les instead of being a stubborn old fool you’d be in the HOF. Don’t blame others for the stupid career decisions YOU made.

His immoral behavior cost him the chance for College Football Hall of Fame qualification.

I thought that was adjudicated and found to be false?

I seem to recall LSU had to settle with a coed because of Les. It was hidden for several years but brought to light during the internal investigation.

I’m pro Lesticles on this one. Bama cheated all the time in recruiting. You think Saban will vacate wins?
user avatar
tigerpawl23 months
He would have been gone a lot sooner had it not been for the low standards, "10 Wins, Baby!!" crowd. The first thing he needs to do is acknowledge that without Saban's tenure at LSU, he'd have 0 (ZERO) NC's.

Idk about that and it could also be said without Sabans tenure at Alabama Miles would have likely had 4 or 5 here.

w/o Saban's tenure at LSU he prob isn't at Bama in 2011. We would've played OK St and won a nati there.

If he had the 60% win percentage, what makes him think that he would get in?

He had a history of having great talent and an outdated offense.

What? You don't like toss dive, toss dive, play action 40 yard pass, punt?
