Winter Soldier was good, but not as memorable.

This. I remember winter soldier not being bad and the overall plot of the movie, but I couldn't tell you specifically what happened in the movie that I might not have just seen in one of the other marvel movies.

I remember just about everything in Batman Begins, so I'd have to give it the win.

The beginning of Batman Begins is incredible.

That said, I think Winter Soldier is the better movie overall

Maybe I’m a victim of revisionism but BB is the movie that I feel like kicked off this whole super hero movie craze we’ve been in for 20 years.

When it came out everyone was kind of rolling their eyes at a “realistic” Batman movie since we’d all been used to cheesy shite like Batman and Robin and assumed this movie was just piggy backing on the success of Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire.

Then the movie came out and everyone was completely blown away, no one had ever seen a super hero movie like it, basically created a whole new genre of film.

As I’m typing this I’m realizing how underrated it is, maybe a top 20 film of all time and in the discussion for the GOAT of the last 25 years.

Raimi's second Spider-Man movie a year earlier is I think where it really kicked off. That one set a ton of box office records and was being hailed as a legitimate contender for Best Picture, which was (and frankly still is) absurd for a superhero movie.

BB was next in line though.

I'd say the first Spider-Man kicked it off. The X-Men movies were good, Spider-Man was great and a massive blockbuster.

Batman Begins by a mile. Winter Soldier is a good movie but one of the most overrated ones out there.

Batman begins. I remember watching it with my grandpa who only watched old westerns and he loved it. That always struck me as good indicator of how great it was

BB and it’s not close. Nolan was a gift to DC comics

I remember when WS came out this board's reaction was "good Marvel movie but another weak villain". Now, the revisionist history is that it's the Citizen Kane of superhero movies.

Batman Begins is the most under appreciated movie of this century. It’s a great movie, regardless of genre.

Fair, I still feel like the Tobey Maguire Spirdermen movies had a little campiness to them. They were like a go between of the ridiculous superhero movies of the 90’s and the “realistic” ones of the early 2000’s. It’s defining a more serious time with a “realistic” feel. Yet You’ve still got Green Goblin flying around in his silly suit talking to himself.

Batman Begins is the first superhero movie I can remember that everything and everyone involved could theoretically take place in the real world. Obviously it’s still a superhero movie and some of the stuff is not realistic, but in theory it COULD happen without magic spiders, aliens, or super natural powers at play.

Winter Soldier would be a good movie even if it wasn’t a Captain America movie.

I prefer Winter soldier personally, but BB is probably a better movie. Winter Soldier is just so much more fun and rewatchable to me.
