Peggy Shippen.

Rich and supposedly one of the most beautiful women in the colonies.

Arnold’s pursuit of that woman destroyed arguably the best Colonial field general of the entire war.

Turn portrays it pretty well, obviously taking some artistic liberties.

I would love to see a movie about the battle of Kursk. It was the largest tank battle ever fought between the soviets and the nazis. Would be amazing to see huge numbers of tiger and panther tanks fighting against masses of soviet T34’s.

I think western movie makers always shied away from portraying the eastern front as both sides were seen as bad (Nazis vs commies).

No doubt there were many stories to be shown from that front that would make for dramatic cinema. An example of how it could be handled without glorifying either cause would be Enemy at the Gates.

Benedict Arnold was a hero of the Revolution -- there is actually a monument to him at Saratoga. Why would he throw all that away?

It isn't a monument to Benedict Arnold. It is a monument to Benedict Arnold's injured foot. It commemorates the one thing Arnold gave for the US. Arnolds name appears nowhere on the monument.

I think it is the best monument ever created.

I'd like to see a really well done movie or mini series about the Battle of the Teutoburg Forrest. It would have a lot going for it - it would make for some great battle tactics, it was an event which really impacted history, and the guy who led the Germanic forces was trained by and had the trust of the Roman military.

There is a show called Barbarians about that very thing. It is in German and Latin with subtitles.

The Life of Roy Batty

I know - it's fiction, not fictional.

I know this post was in jest, but sadly this is probably the one movie that would be made first.

Then the main Saratoga Battle Monument has an empty niche for what would have been an Arnold statue. The other three niches are filled - Gates, Schuyler, and Morgan.

The really funny thing is that the empty niche faces the battlefield. Gates faces north, where the Brits came from; Schuyler faces east, toward his estate that was burned; Morgan faces west, as his troops were stationed to the west to prevent an escape to the west.

THEe Battle of New Orleans has only been done the one time that I'm aware of, The Buccaneer with Yul Brenner as Lafitte and Charlton Heston as Jackson.Buccaneer

This was also what I came here to reply. The story of Jean Lafitte and his role in the battle of New Orleans

I have been listening to a podcast called Revolutions and there are so many wild stories.

I think a movie about the French Revolution that isn’t a fricking musical would be great. Or a really good Napoleon BioPic.

Also Poncho Villa or Emilio Sappata would be great too.

I’d like to see a film about the fall of the Berlin Wall, including the reaction of East German and Soviet politicians as the event unfolded.

A good, accurate George Washington movie

Well if it was accurate he would be depicted as the "fancy boi" he was and people would think it was woke-psyop-ing.

A 10-part series on the First Crusade would be fantastic if the budget was on par with Game of Thrones. A lot of interesting characters and events to cover during the course of the Crusade, but the atrocities would be rough to watch

I would love to see something involved around takeo yoshikawa, and the other Japanese spies in Hawaii prior to pearl harbor

Hes got a wild story. He destroyed everything right before the attack, was actually picked up by the FBI while trying to get off the island afterward but left them with nothing to go on so they let him return to Japan. He finished the war in the Japanese navy but went into hiding as a monk after Japan's surrender due to fear of being tried with the other Japanese war criminals

He tried to set up some kind of shop in the mid 50s but Japanese people found out about his involvement in the attack and basically blamed him for the start of the war and the dropping of the atom bomb. He basically died without a penny to his name and only survived due to his wife having a job that made money

I'd really enjoy that. Surprised there's never been a movie about the emperor Constantine, at least that I can recall.
