What do you think is the biggest most impactful death on screen of all time?
Using this criteria, it has to be Janet Leigh's death scene in the shower in Psycho. The scene is so iconic and went on to inspire an entire sub-genre of horror - the slasher.

Ned’s death for TV
Even in the books it’s brutal and jarring because it’s from his daughter’s and other loved one’s perspective over multiple chapters

Maybe not biggest cinematic but one of the most underappreciated and emotional.

hard to say what is meant by most impactful so some thoughts
most emotional:
probably some animal. i give nod to old yeller as OG. nothing tends to get those tear duct working like some poor animal getting the short end of the stick.
most visceral:
the saving private knife scene. you know what i mean. sure others have been more violent but this one just seems more real.
runner up would be quint in jaws
last stand/sacrifice:
boromirs is up there. Scarface too.
most "wtf" happened:
chestburster scene in aliens. when the other actors are legit shocked and WTF, its good.

If it had been done right, the death of Han Solo at the hands of his son could have been Mt. Rushmore.
