Maybe they just saw how great he was as a villain and ran with it

Definitely. Actor killed it.

Similar to Jason Isaac’s character in the Patriot in that way.

AMC+

Thats what I'm watching it on. Very good.

A Rogers' Rangers tv show would be nice. So much content they could make 4-5 seasons

Turn is one of my favorite series of all time! When they almost killed the show before the last season I was completely bummed. A classic for anyone who loves American History.

Something about that actor and the way he spoke so softly made him extra creepy

Loved it. I’d like to do a rewatch, but prime just took it down.

Looks like they "lost it" to the AMC sub

I read the book. The series takes A LOT of liberties (pun intended). I watch a season then lost interest.

Yes it does but the show is still good. A lot of intrigue, tension and Rogers, Washington, Simcoe and Andre are great in this show. Andre may be my favorite character. I'd give it another shot

I recently purchased a book called "Treacherous Beauty" about Peggy Shippen Arnold. Haven't read it yet but it looks interesting. How she played Washington and others into thinking she had nothing to do with Arnold's betrayal is funny. Washington thought she was delirious so they just let her go

I enjoyed the show very much. I found the best actor in the show was JJ Feild who played Major John Andrè. He did a fantastic job.

I hated the fact that Hollywood created some much drama that was not there. Abraham and Anna never had an affair. Anna was 10 yrs older plus had 5 kids. Simcoe had no idea about who Woodhull was. Woodhull never went to New York as much as he did. Sackett dies after the war ended. Shippen and Andrè may have had an affair but no confirmation of it.

I know why some of it was created so that there would be interest in the series. The series needed a romance angle and a villain. Simcoe fit the villain. Anna they made into basically the town slut.

I enjoyed the series and thought it was well done. I was not a big fan of the main character. I just didn't find him likable. Enjoyed the story and the Simcoe character along with Washington and Benedict Arnold. Turn is definitely worth the watch.

Wait, are we watching Hollywood? What in the Sam hell do you think Hollywood is there to do?

Close enough for government work.

If you like Peggy and her outfits, do yourself a favor and watch Salem.

Just finished the series after reading this thread. I had never heard of it and it was absolutely terrific. Thanks so much for TURNing me on to it. I also just watched the first episode of Sons of Liberty. Doesn’t seem quite as good as Turn, but it’s only 1 season, so seems worth a watch.

My pops two favorite shows are Hell on Wheels and Turn.
Both are on AMC. Prime offers specials every so often for AMC subscriptions. I did that for a few months and watched a bunch of shows, including both of those.
