Nope. If they don't get Lane Kiffin, they will just post the job on Indeed and accept any applications.

How do some people on this board function in life? LSU has backup plans. They have at least 3 coaching candidates they are talking to (talking to agents at least). If they don't, then the people in charge should not have jobs.
I'm sure you are highly credible since you have only joined this month and have 6 posts.
Lol. All this Lane Kiffin sideshow is entertaining. This is remiscient of Saban in his early coaching days at LSU. NFL teams called every year. He and Sexton would listen. If Lane was serious about being a "changed person", he would sign the extension and let this shite fall away. He has not. He enjoys the limelight.

Whether he stays at OM or leaves for UF or LSU, this will continue to happen over the next few years. Whether another big program (Alabama one day) or the NFL, Lane and Sexton will continue to shop his services and he will look at those options.
The OL, and the WRs are the worst I have ever seen. The WRs can't get open at all. They can't block. They can't catch. The play calling tonight was atrocious. I would let Baker call plays on offense. His defense has won games by keeping the score low. The offense can't do anything.
From 2001 to 2004, we dealt with this from Saban and his urge to go to the NFL. We just wanted a coach that wanted to be at LSU. Not look at every new shiny job as leverage to get more money or whatever.

OM had this 2 years ago when Auburn looked like they got Kiffin. Now this with LSU and Florida. Who knows what teams will be open next year that will come calling for him.

I understand their frustration. If you want to stay, come out and say it. If you want to go, leave. When Saban left and announced on Christmas Eve, it sucked. Then losing the game against Iowa on last play really sucked. Team goes back home to BR. Be gets on a private jet to Miami.

I have been under the belief that Kiffin was not coming from the moment LSU fired BK and all the fans want Kiffin. He is staying. I know everyone is like "why did he not sign extension" and "why make a statement today" blah blah blah.

The announcement after the egg bowl is going to be a bigger contract extension and if they win, they will be in the CFP.

All these threads of " we got him" , "done deal" are funny and amusing. Nothing is official until the papers are signed and there is a press conference.

I like Shep but this is not a learn how to be a head coach type of job. He had no experience college coaching. He has no experience with recruiting. He has no coached long enough to develop connections to make good hires on his staff.

Besides most coordinators in NFL want to be NFL HC one day. College football is year round. Offseason is spring practice and development. Then talking with training staff about summer workout program. All year recruiting. Then preparing in season and recruiting. NFL coaches do not worry about that.

As far as getting a college coordinator, I like Glenn Schumann ( UGA DC). He worked under both Saban and Smart. Was one of Kirby first hires when he took over at UGA. Helped Roquan Smith get the Butkis Award. UGA has remained one of the better defenses even after Lanning left and he was promoted from Co-DC to DC. Can help bring back LSU to being physical.
I grew up in the 70s/80s. I received a spanking every now and then. It was never with the belt. More just like a smack or 2 to let me know I did something wrong. This right here is straight abuse. No child should have to be begging his mother to stop and she continues like that. All for not cleaning his room.

Makes me wonder how many times she did that where she was not filmed. I feel for that kid. She needs her arse whooped like that to teach her a lesson
I still remember my 6 digit code to log in.

He is in 3rd year coaching. Many thought Deboer was not ready for SEC either. Les Miles best win total was 9 wins and lost the bowl game. In fact he was 1-2 in bowl games. Best finish was 3rd place in South division. Yet he had success at LSU.

Orgeron was winless in SEC at Ole Miss. Many would say he was not ready either.

Point is if KD is hired he will have better resources available to him than at ASU. Not saying he would leave his Alma Mater but I don't think it would be a "doom and gloom" hire.
Are you asking who the admin wanted or who the fans wanted? Bc in most cases those are very different.

I know some are saying Saban. Only Emmert wanted Saban. Joe Dean did not want him and did not want to pay him the $1.05 million Saban was asking. Emmert told Dean to make it happen when they interviewed him.

I think with all coaching searches, the fans end up most disappointed bc the hire is not someone they wanted.

What is the reason behind you saying " flat out not ready for a job of this caliber"?

Who is ready for this job of this caliber? What makes him ready?

He won a Power 4 conference championship and made it to the CFP in his second season. Refs screwed Arizona State against Texas and I think they should have won. Would have been in semi finals.

I'm not saying he is coming but if he did, I think he could be successful. The expectations for any coach coming should not be " NC in 3/4 years". It won't happen like that.

Another coach I think LSU should look at. Glenn Schumann (UGA DC). Bring back physicality to LSU. Build the program up like Saban did at Bama and Kirby did at UGA. He learned under both while at Bama and UGA. Top defenses at UGA since he has been DC.

He did call plays and was involved in place calling except at FSU. His one season as OC at Oregon had Oregon scoring 38+ points a game. Bo Nix had 3500+ yards and Bucky Irving had over 1K yards rushing.

Arizona State has never been a top recruiting stop no matter who the HC is lol. You don't think he would be able to recruit and develop QBs at LSU?

Everyone wants Kiffin bc of his offense. Dillingham offenses and QB development has been noticeable.

I am saying if he was to become the HC, it is not the doom and gloom that many predict because previous Lane did not come. Will he leave his Alma Mater? That is the big question.
Les Miles record was 28-21 at Oklahoma State before coming to LSU. His best season was 9-4 with a loss in the Cotton Bowl. His best finish was 3rd in the south division. He worked well for LSU.

Dillingham is a young coach who has been coaching since he was 17. When he was at Memphis, the offenses were Top 5 in country. At Auburn he coached Bo Nix become SEC Freshman of the Year. He has been recognized at one of the top recruiters in the country.

I think he can be successful at LSU with resources and getting QBs to come play for him. The biggest question is : will he leave his alma mater? He grew up in Arizona and always wanted to play/coach for Arizona State and he is living that dream.
They copied it from Nebraska bc of how many 1 score losses they had under Scott Frost

I stuck it out with YouTube TV. Just did the free trial with FuBo and cancelled before the trial ended. Did it twice the last 2 weekends. Able to watch CFB without paying extra.
ABC is working for me
I saw the email. I am glad Disney came to their senses. Must have seen the ratings and viewership go down. I signed up for Fubo for their 5 day free trial twice and then cancelled before I was charged. Cost nothing for me extra the last 2 weeks.

If a coach being hired is going to cause you to walk away from being a fan, just go ahead and do so. I lived thru the 80s and 90s without seeing LSU have much success. Some good years and some bad years.

I was in the south upper end zone when they gave prizes out between quarters and kids running over to the empty seat to claim the prize. That was more interesting than the product on the field.

I don't care who the coach is. I will cheer for LSU football regardless. I will be frustrated when they play poorly and I will be happy when they play great bi won't abandon them bc of a coach.
