The Pierce Brosnan version is a great movie to live up to. They couldn't change the name, though?

Brother that movie is a remake of a 1968 movie of the same name.

Yeah, I know, that's why it says "Pierce Brosnan version."

I feel like the Brosnan remake just came out

I'm old.

I like that version a lot, haven't seen the original, shamefully. I don't feel like the remake is stale enough to get ANOTHER remake, but whatever.

Maybe I'll stream this one day.

Both are very good. I like Renee Russo just fine but she can't hold a candle to Faye Dunaway in the original. As big a fan as I am of Steve McQueen if I was forced to choose between the two, I'd say I like the Pierce Brosnan version better by a slim margin.

Maybe it'll be as good as Without Remorse.

Wow, a remake of a remake.

What a refreshingly original idea from Hollywood.

No, because with that cast and director I knew it would not be a shitshow

There will be some equivocating and some hemming/hawing, but yes, it boils down to this for them.

31 years between the 1st and 2nd, and now 27 years between 2nd and 3rd.

I think the timing is fine.

I don't have a problem with a remake and it wouldn't matter if I did because Hollywood is lazy. The timing isn't the issue (for me), his track record is.

Was creed 3 a shitshow?

Are Jordan, Adrian Arjona, and Kenneth Brannagh shitshow actors?

As someone with no nostalgia for either previous version, this cast looks fine. I'm not super interested in another version of this, but who knows.

I like MBJ. Looking forward to this one. Loved the Pierce Brosnan version, never saw the original with Steve McQueen. Don't mind the race switch here. There was nothing uniquely white or British or whatever about Thomas Crown, and it's not a historical character. Heck, from a persona standpoint MBJ is probably more like Steve McQueen than Pierce Brosnan.

The boiler hat scene in the 1999 remake was a great scene.
