Clubber Lang might have been brash and obnoxious, but everything he said about Rocky at the statue unveiling was true. And I can’t even criticize his taste in women for making a pass at Adrian. She was hot in Rocky 3-4.

Naw frick that Bud Kilmer was a tyrannical prick who didn’t give two shits about his players other than what they could do to boost his own acclaim.

Thanos could have doubled the resources instead.
Explain “doubling the resources”.
You are essentially doubling the existence of every object in the universe.
That is hard to comprehend, hell maybe even impossible.
If it can’t be visualized, it can’t be forced into existence.
Also, resources resulted in the collapse of his world, but the inciting factor wasn’t a shortage of resources. It was the societies themselves.
Fixing the number of resources puts a bandaid on the wound.
You fix the problem by removing the problem.

To actually fix the problem would require some pretty well thought out detail

Maverick was cleared in the incident, it could have happened to anyone.

Obviously, the qualifications for senator aren't that rigorous.

You put a lot of thought into what is and isn't possible in a movie where a giant purple dude with a nutsack on his chin is fighting assorted aliens and humans, one being a billionaire, one a kid who got bit by a spider, and a shrimp who was transformed into a super soldier who was frozen for 70 years.

I think you could argue that was Ice's fault for selfishly trying to get Viper for too long then cutting Maverick off making him fly through the jet wash

A good villain has at least at the core a valid point for why things need fixing.
It's their solutions which often go astray.
Ra's al Ghul
Vulture
Joker
Erik Killmonger
Thanos
Ultron
Keyser Söze
Jenny, from Forrest Gump, however, is irredeemable.

Doubt - Sister Aloysius
If you haven't seen this movie, do yourself a favor and see it. Fascinating movie. If you went to a Catholic elementary school, this is required viewing.
