Things appear to be winding down
Curious to see what else is gonna bookend this season
Glad Emma is okay physically at least, she’s a tough kid who decided to stay despite the assault.
Al Hashimis eyes almost bugged out of her skull finding out about Langdon
Santos sneaking that scalpel home to potentially cut herself again..
Dana and Robby.. whew Robby got some tough love in their little pow wows
Everyone is picking up Robby wants to kill himself and he’s clearly got PTSD
Everything is teetering off a cliff for most everyone in the ED .

I’m not sure winding down is quite the right description. The cases are finding some resolution/closure, but I feel like from a staff standpoint, a lot of things are coming to a head. If I’m not mistaken, there are 3 more episodes, so there’s still time, but it seems like some things still need to happen, specifically with Rabi’s buddy.

I dont get this. She freaks the frick out over Langdon stealing then herself steals from the hospital. She can literally cut herself with anything else, so why sneak a scalpel?
Also idk how she keeps getting away with speaking to patients the way she does.

One can only hope. I kid I kid. Kind of, but not really, she is the worst.

You can't root for Santos, she's built to hate, but I can understand a part of her resentment to Langdon. I've had addicts in my life that received the "clean slate" treatment from family and friends, where every bad thing they did in the past was chalked up to substance abuse. Yet there are parts of people that you pretty much know was their true self, and not the addiction doing you wrong. When she brought up Langdon's gaslighting her in the past, it got me thinking that from her perspective that was him doing it and not the drugs.
But then it's not like Langdon came back to universal praise. Robby treats him like shite and now Al-Hashimi knows and is on the hate wagon. We might not get resolution this season but it'll make for an interesting update on the next run.

I 100% understand this perspective- I have a family member that gets this treatment to an extent. He's also the youngest sibling, so it's almost double time

I think people would be a little more on her side with regard to Langdon if she was like that only with him. But we've seen the way she deals with some of her patients. Like basically ignoring the deaf girl this season.

But.. but... but... she's got to get her charting done! Or *gasp* she'll have to stay late.

Really. For some reason I thought that was the finale.
Oh and frick Santos. I can’t stand that smug bitch. I hope she seriously fricks up and Langdon saves the day.

Robby and Dana going at each other may be the last straw. She's always been his biggest supporter and his "go to" for getting shite done.

That part was wild. Dana " he slipped"
I have a feeling that situation isn't over yet, especially when the guy went off on the nicest person in the ED.
Stapling the guy's scalp.. "oops".
This really is a good show, wokeness aside.

Trying to think of what they can do next season to keep this structure up without becoming ER or one of the other medical shows.
Season 1: mass casualty.
Season 2: systems go down.
Other options:
Terrorist attack (would be a little too close to season one)
Covid flashback season (not sure people really want to see this)
Natural disaster (a little limited with Pittsburg, but a big time earthquake episode would be legit, it’d have all the elements of seasons one and two and some new angles)

Hostage situation in the ED where the doctors have to treat one or more of the perps.
Maybe a John Q situation?

I like what they did with placing this season on July 4th. Maybe follow that sort of idea again. I tried to think of another day that could be potentially busy but a lot of days similar to July 4th come to mind. What about Black Friday? You could play with post Thanksgiving health issues as well as just all the stuff that goes into shopping on Black Friday.
