I agree with
quote:

Watching the mom die of cancer has been particularly rough these past few episodes.

But I think Dr Robby will pull something out of his hat for treatment for her. It wont be moral, possibly illegal, & he'll catch heat for it creating a ton of tension. Too much focus on her not to be something more there.

Duke will have a serious illness & be focused on more. Creating more stress & anxiety for Dr Robby.

Dr Robby & Dr Samira will have continued issues. He may try to get rid of her as the ER isnt for her. More anxiety

quote:

Stand by my theory that Robby is not in a good place mentally

I agree with this but I don't think self harm will be his answer. He may crash out.

Just a guess.

I don't think so. I hope this story line is done.

With that ending, it was hard for me to tell if they were trying to create catharsis or cliffhanger. Like… is it fade to black for the cancer mom or is someone going to rush in and “hold everything”. I’m hoping it was fade to black, but it could have been done more impactfully if so.

Duke is clearly going to have lung cancer or something. It’s going to force Robbie into some kind of epiphany

Robby’s touchiness with Mohan clearly a reflection of his own panic attack issues. Doesn’t want to see that weakness in others as it forces him to think about it in himself. Definitely moving him toward another crisis.

I loved the “Shark” character. I know it’s a stereotype but it was a perfect a-hole savant surgeon portrayal.

Yeah he was great. Just realized he’s played by Lou Ferigno Jr.

So far we’ve had cast members 911, ER(obviously), and I think a couple of more medical dramas (I could be getting them confused with someone else) pop up as one-off spots or recurring characters.

Before this show is over I just want to see Hugh Laurie make an appearance for one episode as a House-esque character either as a patient or some kind of specialist to see him interact with Robbie, frick with Whitaker, and shame Santos

Much less motivation to watch if Dr Robbie is out.

They'll replace him with a female lead

My wife said the same thing

Santos sucks. Shes not even an evil character that you enjoy hating. The last episode wasn't lighthearted digs, sass, or just her being ornery. It was straight up unprofessional behavior in front of a patient that she should have been reprimanded more for.

And to top it off shes not even that good of a doctor.

ROBBY MEET ME AT SONIC RIGHT NOW HOW DARE YOU GO OFF ON MY QUEEN MOHAN!

And Santos is getting to be my most hated TV character ever. What a bitch. You wanted him fired, ok well he wasn't, STFU and do your job. She's just completely unprofessional in every aspect of her job. How she handled the ASL girl and now this resting bitch attitude has me seriously disliking her. I'm sure she'll have some redemption moment and save someone but I really don't care, she deserves zero praise and I hope she gets fired.

Whitaker has definitely become my favorite character.

Dr. Al-Hashimi really shining in this episode. THat throat stuff was pretty wild. You can tell Robby's opinion of her is changing.

Sad story, but glad we are finally going to be done with the cancer lady. A few episodes in a row of the same exact stuff. We get it, it's sad, but from a story stand point, it's dragging on. But it has shown even more what a great Doctor that McKay is. I really like her.

She’s growing on me. There’s a photo apparently later this season where she has her hair down and her jacket off with just scrubs on and she’s looking beautiful.

( I have an ex that’s a doctor and Lebanese and she really resembles Al hashimi and I think about her all the time when she’s on screen because she reminds me of her… sigh.. what could have been..)

Nah. The end of the episode was essentially her being ushered out to a better place/no longer in pain. That's the end for her. It would completely do away with all the storylines they've build up so far with her if Robby comes in and saves the day. Also, Robby is the one that put it in McKay's head that it's just some peoples time, he would be against trying to come up with a useless treatment.

Agreed, there is no save the day for her. While it took many episodes, I think that was the writers' point to drag it out and show how a terminal illness works and the end process of acceptance and dying.

I think Robby sticks around to save his buddy with the hoarseness and sabbatical never comes to fruition.

Dr. Abbot could be the star of this show with good writing. Charisma with a capital C.

Agree. This is similar to the geriatric patient last year where the daughter was refusing to follow the living will. These are story lines that viewers can actually relate to.
