They really nailed an issue with immigration.
Earlier in the season we see the dad who can’t afford care, already $100k in medical debt, needs a go fund me and ultimately has to leave the ER due to the cost of care. He is embarrassed and shamed for outrageous healthcare costs.
This episode nails why that care is so expensive. Even in an ER 1500+ miles from the border, the hospital is overcrowded by illegal immigrants.
Really hit home to show the American tax payer has been saddled with the world as their dependents. That broke dad is forced to subsidize any and all and has no say in the matter.
The ER wait time was immediately drastically reduced, limited resources were saved, as well as tax dollars (for a few hours).
Subsidizing the world leads to poor and expensive care for Americans.
Same thing happens for pharmaceuticals. The American tax payer get screwed.

They did both of those things from 08-16, it just didn’t show up on your CNN feed because…well you know why

Regarding the kid with the heatstroke. . .Am I the only one thinking he's too old to be riding a trike? Mom kept saying that over and over. . . "he just wanted to ride his trike."

I love this show but that episode was ridiculous. Did they bring in Gray's anatomy writers for it?
The over the top ice agents, mel sister drama, baseball guy, drug addict on the park, golfer, headstoke mom, Santos.
Terrible episode. Robbies friend asking him to stay was the only part of the episode that was worth a crap.

It was ridiculous, but to be honest, anyone surprised didn’t watch the first season or they must have forgot lol. 1st season was some of the most ridiculous, woke tv I’ve ever seen. Still good tv but they definitely have their agenda

Everything you said except
Wasn't me & I disagreed at the time but now IDK. I used the sick mom as his breaking point but obviously wrong. I think he's going to pop. Something immoral or even illegal & that's when it hits the fan. Maybe with Duke?

Not sure if it was you earlier that said he was going to commit suicide but they are certainly leaning into that heavy now.

You must haven't watch much tv. And I hate woke. The show is written based on current events. It could be a lot worse.

It’s fine because it’s still good tv. Just about every episode last season touched on some hot button issue, it current issues. Anti vax, abortion, etc. ant it’s not only the fact that every patient, had a controversial issue, but the doctors were constantly on their soap boxes scolding the patients or patients families about how they were wrong lol. Which just isn’t real life

I love the show, but let's be real, the show is written by far left liberals. This last episode took the cake with the big evil ICE agent. Gimme a break.

Good post, agree with it all. Although, I'm starting to like Ogilvy a little. The show is so damn good but so beyond woke. I want to quit watching but the actual hospital stuff is so raw and good.

Of course by the evil white man! I've lost count of evil white men on this show.

I don't like the Chinese intern or the Persian doctor. Though the latter is attractive in that she looks like sexy Kirsty Ally from Star Trek 2 and 3.

I just got my bill for my week in the hospital.
Billed price $105,400
Insurance adjusted price is like $15k
Insurance paid $13,400
I have to pay like $1700 give or take.
. So if I didn't have insurance I would have been billed $105,000? Not complaining I had at least 12 doctors and multiple units of blood and multiple ct scans and x rays plus had fluids drained so less than $2k seems reasonable.
But without insurance I'm sure it's scary.

She looks like a Vulcan exactly. Just need pointy ears. I hate the way she runs things. Glad they are setting her up as temporary.

Also I the US anyone can get emergency care at any er regardless of status.
But that isn't repaid. My buddy broke his leg in Mexico and they made him pay before they set and cast it. But to be fair they only charged like $500.

Yes this tracks with my recent experience with my broken ankle/leg. I forgot the exact figures but the billed price for my surgery something like 40k, it got adjusted down to around 15k or so and after insurance I paid $2700.
I guess that's normally how it works

Lieutenant Saavik in Star Trek II was played by Kirstie Alley.

Agreed. But part of the problem is they went with the mass casualty event in season one.
By definition they can’t match that again, so they’re grasping at straws right off the bat.
