I can’t imagine anything less interest than another hospital drama, except maybe another police procedural

During halftime of the playoff game, CBS had a commercial for a new show about doctors who are "really detectives" named "Watson" (get it?)

I really like this show

An R-rated ER

They’re throwing a lot of physiology around too they aren’t babysitting the viewer at all but are trying to explain why they’re doing what they’re doing. Something ER didn’t really do. They’re letting the viewer learn and let the med students explain it like they’re the patient

This is is right in my wheelhouse .

Will definitely watch. Thanks for heads up.

Has anyone done an ER rewatch in recent years? I loved it as a young teen when it was airing, but haven’t seen an episode since it finished. Doing a rewatch sounds like it could be fun if it holds up well….albeit time consuming with 15 seasons and 331 episodes.

Couldn’t come to an agreement about crediting Crichton after negotiating for a year according to this. I am sure that involved a lot of money going to family which is sticking point for both.

Also looks like they only notified her after setting up a press release about the sequel.
quote:

The ER sequel series conversations began in November, 2022, when his widow, Sherri Crichton, received a “courtesy call” from Wells, notifying her that a press release about the sequel series would be issued shortly. Ensuing talks with WBTV quickly snagged. The estate was told an ask for a “created by” credit for the late Crichton – he died in 2008 before the original ER finished its run – would not happen. The studio, per the lawsuit, then toughened its stance.

This presumes it was ever watchable.

Meredith Grey has got to be one of the most annoying and unlikeable main characters ever.

Is it OK to boo at loud her every scene? Asking for a friend.

Watched the first two episodes this morning. Its probably going to be a good show but a somewhat typical ER show. Noah is always good in these shows if you were a original ER fan as I was

But if you are looking for things to trigger you, it puts a lot of feelers out there.

Meh... if you are looking to be triggered, then triggered you will always be. These types typically find reasons to be triggered.

I just roll my eyes at alot of crap. Not worth getting triggered over a silly TV show.

In my mind, I am pretending it's Dr. Carter and this is a continuation of ER.

Or maybe he had to change his name and move to another city for reasons.

Regardless, it's still ER to me dammit!

Solid third episode

The blonde chick from the VA that’s Bryan Cranston daughter, she must have Asperger’s or something she hasn’t said yet. She acts very strange .

Very good so far, almost got me with parents losing the 18yd to fentynal in the 2nd ep.

I've never watched a medical drama except maybe some episodes of house when I was younger. Just knew I'd never like them. But this is Max so I figured it'd be a little different and my wife is a nurse and wanted to check it out. Did not expect to be emotional after 2 episodes.

In the 2nd episode a guy comes in and is basically brain dead from a "head trauma from a stand up scooter accident" and an 18 year old kid dies of a fentanyl overdose.

Three years ago me and my mom were in a stand up scooter accident and my mom passed from head trauma. One year ago my 18 year old nephew died from fentanyl poisoning. Two of my favorite people on the planet. Wife just looked at me and said "we don't have to watch this." Messed me up for the rest of the night.

The wife and I started watching this and have enjoyed it through the 1st three episodes.

I don't know how busy Trama centers are in big cities, but if it's anything like is portrayed in this show, I don't know how doctors can do that day after day.

It's like they made a really good ER show (from my perspective) with likable characters, semi-authentic feel for the layman, humor, emotion, etc. without any real political/social commentary that actually impacts much of the storyline...

And then went back overtop and sprinkled in like two out of place woke moments in every episode to appease someone/something. Almost as an afterthought (at least through first 3 eps). Which I know isn't abnormal for recent years, but it seems particularly odd since it was released at almost exactly the time when corporations/media/etc. are all working overtime to shed the last 5-10 years of woke platitudes and act like nothing happened.

It's not enough to make me turn on the show - which I think is high quality - although the last episode began to focus on some storylines that could potentially kill it for me. I can live with the eyeroll inducing stuff, hopefully that's about the extent of it.

Maybe it's me, I've watched the three episodes and maybe I missed the "woke" moments while I was just enjoying the show. I like that it feels authentic and not too over the top as my mom worked ER for OLOL and saw similar cases many times. Not as fast paced as this show but enough believable aspects that it is something she will text me about.
