Christopher Nolan is in hot water for choices he made regarding his upcoming movie.

The Academy Award-winning director is receiving backlash for many of his decisions in the making of the film, including casting choices, historical inaccuracies throughout and use of modern dialogue.

"Christopher Nolan has cancelled all screenings of The Odyssey with movie influencers," one X user wrote. "He is only allowing approved critics to see it in advance. He is waving the surrender flag. They know they have a financial disaster on their hands."

"All Christopher Nolan had to do was deliver a visually stunning take on a classic — and he’d have had a huge hit," one X user wrote. "Instead, he decided to ruin it with questionable modifications. Some say he bowed to the woke crowd. Others say he is the woke crowd and was trying to make a statement. Regardless… go woke, go broke."

That Fox News article is literally just quoting random Twitter users. Not even prominent Twitter users, it just pulled random tweets to quote, which is what you reproduced. This isn’t some industry insiders or consulting company putting out preliminary estimates. Who knows what will end up happening but there’s no actual data or anything in that article supporting that the film won’t do well financially.

They've had several screenings already. They just had one yesterday in NY. LA press is on Monday. Must be a slow news day for Fox

I don't understand why they quote random twitter users in articles...and they do it often. Who the hell cares what some rando on twitter, likely a bot, posts about anything?

That being said, I'll wait and see how this one does. If all the rumors are true, it's sad to see Nolan make those choices for such a big movie. I've enjoyed most of his movies a lot, and was looking forward to this one.

What a spin retard article

When films don't do "influencer" screenings its because they think its really good

When they focus on influencer screenings its because its a pile of shite

Exactly. Early reviews are literally comparing it to an epic like The Lord of the Rings.

That is a very bold and positive statement. It’s also Chris Nolan. He has yet to make a bad film.

Fox News is not real media. I can't believe my parents watch that propaganda 24/7

It's not going to be a financial disaster. Nolan's name alone will drag it past the threshold for profitability. It just won't be the mega-hit it could have been.

Critics that have seen it have largely had positive reviews, some very positive.

But we know how critics love the smell of their own farts, so we'll see.

I'll be going to the theater to check it out regardless.

Wait, that's supposed to be a bad thing? Influencers are insufferable.

Only allowing bought and paid for "approved critics" that will give positive reviews to the movie doesn't bode well.

I was planning on going opening night until I saw the trailers and we got more info on the characters. I despise Matt Damon as the lead in a period piece. Also turns out he was way down the list and all the better actors turned Nolan down. Really kills my interest in the movie.
