I give this show a lot of latitude because American Jewish families on stage naturally lends to hilarious conversations even if the plot meanders a bit.

Terrible week. The existential Abe crisis I found boring. 5 seasons ignoring his daughter and third to last episode he has an epiphany. I'm good.

Skipped whatever Midge was doing with her reunion. Wasn't interested. Seems like its not discussed here so just what I thought...not important.

I feel like this show was rushed off the stage. I'm going to miss Moishe and Abe. Good characters. Wish they could have interacted this season.

Same.

I thought the existential crisis discussion was interesting and thought-provoking, but it was out of place for Abe.

The reunion scenes were boring and felt like empty calories filler, which is odd considering the fact we’re nearly through the final season.

Yup. It was a real disappointment. The Pirate and Roast episodes were really good but this one, boring as hell. The reunion crap went nowhere. You're right, filler.

The school scene might have been funny IF we got a confrontation between Midge, Joel, and Abe over his banning from the school or restrictions but it didn't happen so that scene fizzled out. Instead we get an Abe becoming woke and realizing there is girl power after all.

The Prince Margaret stuff was spot on and funny. Probably the highlight of the episode. But the rest of the show that was not Gordon Ford related, well, was a downer.

Finally caught up

Only disappointment is not enough Abe/Moishe scenes together and no Imogene :/

Hopefully the finale bangs. Also Janusz was a good character.

He's not bad but felt kinda forced in there to get closure on Zelda.

Really feels like we're gonna get a rushed ending. Lotta fluff this season and I think another 2-3 episodes to sort of flesh this thing out would have helped.

Seems clear the climax will be Midge finally getting her big break on the Gordon Ford show. I think I would've preferred she stick it to Gordon by becoming famous on Jack Parr, rather than getting her break only because of Gordon's wife. Obviously I may be wrong, we'll see how it plays out.

I enjoyed the finale - thought it was damn strong. I had forgotten about this series given the inordinate break between the 2 last seasons. Honestly think that this was the best season of the series.

We watched the finale last night. We really enjoyed it. Gordon was being a jerk but finally admitted she was a great comic.

To me they wasted time on Abe and Rose trying to get to the theater. I know everyone adores Abe but I often found his storylines boring. I think it was last season that it hit me. But that's just me.

I enjoyed the ending and how she went and took a hold of her big break. Also, I enjoyed the scene with Lenny Bruce at the diner. I don’t know much about Lenny but I imagine they showed his downfall for a reason.

So, he died of a morphine overdose in 1966 in his California home. The scene was late 1965 it looked like, so not long after. Makes it very bittersweet the way they framed it, with Midge trying to save him.

I liked the Lenny scenes and glad they didn’t dwell on what historically happens to him.

Honestly, it was a very good finale. I teared up a bit when Suzie gave her a “tits up” right before she took the mic. Really well done ending. And love seeing them playing Jeopardy over the phone together in the end. Glad they got their happy endings as well.

I teared up as well during that entire scene.

That was a great scene and hit the mark. I thought she was going to quit on air so she could do the monolog but he cheerfully fired her so she could return. Nice.

Glad we got closure on Lenny and uber-famous Midge alone in the massive NYC penthouse talking to her one true friend was a great way to close it out.

While it had some slow moments, it was overall a pretty great show.

Tit's up yall!!

I like how halfway through her monologue they darken the set and make it look like a club

can you imagine how much an apartment that size in the dakota costs today? tell them its yoko complaining made me

the series ended uneven but poignant, well done overall. they put some 2020s sensbilities in the 50s and 60s but didnt go too far

joel got midge out of her mob commitment but he wasnt a victim. clearly he became rich fronting clubs for the mob and got busted on RICO when they went down

I thought this season was a huge improvement over season 4.

Just a few quick thoughts.

I thought the finale stuck the landing. It hit every note I personally wanted it to.

The roast episode was one of the best episodes of television I’ve seen in quite some time. I thought it was masterful.

Abe at Ethan’s school (only if the snack is good) had me crying. That entire time he was there was hilarious to me.

I second whoever said that the one thing we needed more of this final season was more Abe & Moishe scenes together.

Watched last night. Was okay. Her bit on the show wasn't that good to me compared to others in previous seasons.

I guess it's good her and Susie lived the rest of their lives watching jeopardy.

She was a terrible parent. Was hoping for some redemption there, but it stayed true to form, so I guess that is okay.

She really was a terrible parent, but I think that was the point. Deep down she never wanted kids or a traditional family - the whole point of the "Don't" note she left herself. If she'd been born in the 80s or 90s she would have taken birth control and focused on becoming a star from the beginning, and no one would've thought twice about her choices. The whole series was about her breaking free from the traditional roles of the time period, even if that meant leaving her kids behind.
