Yep that’s what I got out of it.....if anything maybe we get her in the last episode and maybe a reveal on where Thrawn supposedly is.

We certainly don’t get a payoff on Thrawn or Ezra in the Mandalorian I don’t think.

I wish it was Mark Hamil but his age won't line up.
I wonder if Aosoka knows about Luke and the new order. Or that Anakin died a Jedi

This episode just highlighted even more how stupid the direction of the sequels was.

I'm sad we'll never get to see the jedi order rebuild itself after order 66, but it's obvious how many opportunities they've had to get it done.

frick the sequels were so shite. A stain on the star wars universe.

Holy shite, what an amazing episode! The kid has a name, and it’s Grogu!

I can’t believe they named dropped Thrawn as well, I bet he shows up as a teaser in the last episode. If Thrawn shows up that means Ezra is out there as well.

Only 3 episodes left, but so much to cover! I’m hyped boys.

Loved the loth cat that showed up.

Where was it. I’ve watched it twice already and didn’t see it.

Did you see Morai when Mando first showed up at the coordinates he was supposed to find Ahsoka at

NO, but I definitely went back to watch again. Awesome little Easter egg.

Here's my crazy prediction of how this season plays out: two episodes of hijinks ensue, decent odds one involves Boba Fett, and then Mando and Grogu arrive at Tython for the final episode. Go to the mountaintop, Grogu reaches out with the force, shuttle appears...BY GOD IT'S MOFF GIDEON WITH A STEEL CHAIR!

Badass fight scene ensues, but Mando is grossly outgunned and things look bleak, likely because of Gideon's troopers/droids from the end of the previous episode.

When things look completely hopeless we have the dramatic entry of a very familiar ship/shuttle landing. We get one of those super vague shots like they did of Boba Fett's spurs in season 1, but this time it's showcasing Ezra's distinctive lightsaber bouncing on his hip as he walks down the boarding ramp. Maybe he even unclips it and ignites it. Gideon signals to his troops to stand down as he walks forward, igniting the Darksaber. Standoff. We never actually see Ezra, which is why we didn't see rumors about his casting.

CLIFFHANGER

Bonus points if we see Sabine's brightly painted Mandalorian armor too.

Super quick shot - when Ahsoka and Mando are playing cat-and-mouse with the...whatever they are. Mercenaries, I assume. One shot with the loth cat right around 31:30 and another around 31:45

Another thing I like how they confirmed Beskar armor was able to deflect a light saber. We've seen them cut through thick walls, so that's some serious armor.

Mando is allowed too

Also Ahsoko smiling when he said it was a hilarious wink and nod to the sequel frick up because a JEDI would never call it that unless they were sad alone and depressed from green titty milk

I've seen Clone Wars, not Rebels. My son has watched both.

I noted the owl, but since I don't know the story, didn't know what it meant. I figured it was something relevant since everything onscreen is put there for a reason.
My son didn't catch it, but afterwards (and reading this thread) I rewound to that moment, and asked if that meant anything. He said "oh, yeah. I missed that".

Fantastic episode, and like someone else said, this just makes the sequels even worse.

Serial story telling is not as difficult as some would have you believe. A leads to B. Which, in turn, leads to C. A might lead to Z but you need to cover a lot of ground before you get there.

The sequels ignored that. A leads to Pi. Which leads to x-Z=W.

You set up your story beats on what has come before you. You develop interest in those beats. You pay them off at the right time.

This is the way.

I wonder which Jedi will hear Grogu’s call and come to them?

Grogu will choose not to call out for a Jedi and just stay paired with mando.
Or no Jedi will answer in a timely fashion allowing grogu to stay teamed with mando.

Watching now. Love Ashoka’s reference to Anakin when she discusses why she won’t train Grogu.

Sebastian Stan is the most obvious Luke Skywalker replacement. Filoni needs to see if he can't meet his price.

He already has a TV deal with Disney so it's possible. He really does look like him.

A leads to B. That is such a perfect example of how you establish story beats.
