Do we get Ashoka next week?
Yes, and she will toss baby Yoda over her shoulder like trash...
Probably not. Dave Filoni is directing episode 5. He's the creator of Clone Wars and invented the Ahsoka character. It's more likely that she will make her debut under his directorship 2 weeks from now.

Directed by Bryce Dallas Howard.
That was a pretty good episode. Left a lot of room for the story to go moving forward.

I agree. I think people need to give this series a chance and so should Disney. It has a star wars feel, it is gritty but not overly dark and the focus is different stories. Specifically, we learned that Mando is part of a minor sect of Mandalorians. Very interesting, not sure what that means.

I was joking. Filoni is terrific. Everything he has been involved with is awesome.

It also makes sense due to the fact it will be Thanksgiving weekend. And also follow the current cadence of "narrative moving episode" followed by "world-expanding episode".

I assume they mean the Death Watch which was an offshoot, more hardcore group of Mandolorians. The problem with this is that I thought Bo katan was one of the leaders of Death Watch so it is weird she would refer to them that way and Death Watch even removed helmets a lot.
I am curious if the Watch will be some type of Mando want-to-be's that watched from the outside and claimed to be Mandos when Mandolore went down.
Overall, it was a good episode. I love the fact that this show is in Star Wars but is it's own thing and I hope they keep it that way. I hope Ashoka comes and goes in the show and she just kind of helps aim Mando's arrow and goes away. I hope they don't use this show to tie together the mess of the newest trilogy.

Didn't she realize their flaws and leave them in the end? Or their leaded Pre Vizsla was killed by Darth maul pretty much ending their campaign.

Great episode.
Baby Yoda keeps cracking me up "Don't play with your food".
In the end when Mando picked baby Yoda up from the frog people I had to rewind it to see what he said as I didn't catch I have enough pets. The closed captioning before that said, "Frog people speaking Frog". Silly as it is I have laughed all day about that.

I think Mando’s sect of Mandalorians split off of Death Watch and became a much more fundamentalist group.
Death Watch split after Maul became the leader. Death Watch became his supercommandos and Bo Katan’s group called the Nite Owls and a few others split from them because they rejected Maul.
So who knows when Mando’s cult split from the rest. But Bo Katan clearly knows about them and their differences. But these things are not standard Death Watch rules we see in the Clone Wars series.

This would not be the first time we have seen a separate sect of Mandalorians.
In Rebels, Sabine Wren and her family come from the same group as Bo Katan’s. But Fenn Rau is from a group called the “Protectors of Concord Dawn.” And they are hostile toward Sabine due to her coming from a Death Watch family. They aided the Republic during the Clone War, so they went against the Mandalorian government. But they were not terrorists like Death Watch was considered. Just traditional in their warrior ways.

I like how they explained the helmet thing. Leaves the door open for him to stop leaving it on all the time.

This series is so well done. He'd kick arse making a full movie

Everyone was speculating she was playing some integral role, but she's little more than an extra with two lines.
So that wasn’t Sabine right? That was what people were speculating at one point.
Nm: The IMBD lists her as someone else

Ashoka will probably be in the last 10-15 seconds of next weeks episode to get every a little chubby going and get people talking over Thanksgiving about it. Since Black Friday isn’t a thing this year and hopefully never is again, a lot of families will be waking up early to watch it together.

This shite is like crack. Inject it into my veins!
I might have shed a tear when the frog couple embraced at the beginning and when they had the little tadpole at the end. How did Favreau and Filoli make me care about a throwaway character like that?

This is what I imagined modern Star Wars would look like on my television.
+1 star for Sasha Banks not sticking out like a sore thumb
+20 for Katee Sackhoff

Having watched Longmire for its run, I love her so much. Maybe one of my favorite female actresses, so I'm really excited to see they are utilizing her for Bo Katan as the person who voiced her.
This episode was fantastic. Loved the action among the Mandalorians and where that storyline could go once he links up with Ahsoka Tano.
Also, loved seeing Titus Welliver as the Imperial Captain on the freighter. He always plays a solid villain.
Forbes has a really brief write up on who Bo Katan and Ahsoka Tano are within the canon of Rebels and Clone Wars. And at what point we might be at in their timelines for those who either didn't watch or needed a refresher.
