The Mandalorian: Chapter 11 (Season 2, Ep. 3) ***SPOILERS***
Posted on 11/12/20 at 3:35 pm
Posted on 11/12/20 at 3:35 pm
Airs: Friday Nov. 13, released at 2 am central
Plot: “The Mandalorian braves high seas and meets unexpected allies.”
Duration: 36 min
Characters:
(1) Sasha Banks character (Sabine Wren?, Jedi?, Empire Assassin?)
Mando is on his way to "the estuary moon of Trask", which in the trailer, apparently looks like this, where you see Mando, frog lady and her eggs, and presumably her husband, walking through the docks:
Sasha Banks is listed in the credits for this episode on IMDB (not entirely reliable), and her character also appears in the trailer, standing eerily in the background of what appears to be the same dock scene, while the words "sorcerers called Jedi" is narrated:
(2) OThers: Cara Dune ( Gina Carano), Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), are all set to appear in this episode as well.
Dumb predictions:
- The child might be just incubating the eggs. He just swallowed them rather than biting them like when he ate the spider. Maybe the eggs are destroyed or are going bad already, and the child vomits up the eggs, saving the day. Maybe frog mom knows that's what he's doing since she saved him, and there's no way she didn't notice that many eggs missing. They did share a staring moment at the end.
- Gideon wields the Darksaber, and is therefore technically the Mand’alor: leader of the Mandalorians. If you'll recall, Darksaber was stolen by Sabine (mandalorian), and then passes it to Bo-Katan, another mandalorian. Maybe the "unexpected allies" referenced in the title means that Mando meets Sabine and Bo-Katan in this episode. Banks' character has her hair covered in a hooded robe, which may be hiding the crazy colored hair of Sabine. Sabine and Bo would like to get Darksaber back, and since Gideon is supposed to be in this episode, maybe that'll be it's own story arc.
- Every episode needs a side-quest. Maybe he meets some fish/octopus-looking people pictured on the dock and has to help them to get safe passage by boat to the right harbor (assuming Mando's ship is too damaged to fly). We do see him standing on a ship's deck:

I love how planets and moons in the Star Wars universe are just a single type of biome spanning the entire world.
"This world is nothing but rivers meeting the sea."

Disney really needs to get with the program that Amazon does where they release it at midnight Greenwich time so i can watch the episode during the second quarter of the TNF game

I knew the second I saw the helmet that it was Bo Katan. She just doesn't look right in live action though. Bo Katan would be in her mid-50s in this episode and Sackhoff is 41.
Also, if you are wondering why "Sasha Banks" doesn't appear in the credits, it lists her by her real name (Mercedes Varnado).

Everyone was speculating she was playing some integral role, but she's little more than an extra with two lines.

This was good. The comment about all planets/moons being one ecosystem is something I’ve never thought of. But always true in Star Wars.
I get it that storm troopers are disposable but they could put up a little better fight sometimes.

It’s true in a lot of sci fi. In Avatar they seem to act like their own world is one big jungle. I’m watching Stargate, and they act like those whole worlds are like the one area they visit.

They make fun of that on the Antarctic gate episode.
Back to the episode: Awesome seeing a group of Mandalorians fighting in live action.

Incredible episode
Agreed. Fantastic episode. Seeing them wreck shop and fight together was incredible. I could see why they could give the Jedi more than a fight in battle.
