Picard, it was said, was also allergic to Retinax, but we didn't see him wearing glasses.

You would think over the next 800 years or so they would have a work around

The “captain” treating the captain’s chair like a five year old sitting in dad’s recliner is infuriating for some reason.

Like the Ukrainian actor wearing his costume in the Oval Office.

for some reason.

Maybe because it is her job to instill discipline, standards, and decorum to the next wave of Starfleet leadership.

But she openly undermines starfleet, encourages the kids to do so, is almost always slacking and out of uniform. . .

I'll be honest, the biggest treat was watching the fat mutt yell at a dude demand cadets do push ups as punishment. One cadet says "you first" would fricking wreck her whole world

But in 1000 years wouldn't they have other options? I mean look how much advanced from TOS to TNG. Now multiply that by 10. I still don't get the floating nacelles on future ships. Silly to not have physicall connection to warp nacelles

Ep3 Is out...

As one who is not fond of what I've watched in the first 2 episodes I begrudgingly have to admit I almost enjoyed the 3rd episode for the most part. It had a few items that were cringey but overall not bad.

I think the reason this episode was good was because of all of the shows and movies it stole themes from:

1. The War College vs. Academy is Slytherin vs. Gryffindor

2. The stole elements from Starship Troopers big time..really big

3. We saw a combination of Harry Potter's Herbology class and Little Shop of Horrors..

Now the Cringe:

The dialogue is almost Juvenile. They're using slang that young people are using and not even the good ones. When I see a Vulcan referring to a Cadet as "dude" I think you get my drift...Also, "technobabble" has always been a cornerstone in Star Trek and they're really dialing that down in what I call "dumbing down".

At this point the cadets are far more entertaining than the staff. As much as I like Holly Hunter, her bare foot-hippie style of leadership is terrible. How do you expect to project leadership and professionalism when you're wallering around in sofa's and chairs in official capacity.

Now we see the fat Jem'Hadar woman in a Lesbian relationship with Jett..They had to go there.

Setting my dislikes aside the rivalry was pretty good. I would call it the best episode of the first three not that's saying much

She cannot sit on any seating and not lay down and put her legs in the air. Its trying so hard to make her casual that its distracting.

The teamwork makes the dream work line was nearly as bad as blow it out of your arse. THIS IS NOT frickING STAR TREK...but ill keep watching. I am a glutton. Only She hulk got so bad i quit.

Episode 4 is out.

I have to say that this "Burn" storyline flat out sucks. I didn't follow it on DISCO and now it appears the Klingons are on the brink of extinction. Qo’noS was apparent destroy.

So the showrunners have destroyed the Romulan Empire, The Federation and now the Klingon Empire and turned them all into refugees.

This was almost a good episode but I can't get by this annihilation angle of everything that made Star Trek so special gone.

They were all male. It says they didn't procreate naturally not that they couldn't. Also maybe things changed in 1000 years.

I don't know if I'd call them "male" - I'd say they were masculine, but they were without an actual gender. Being male implies they were cloned with all the workings for procreation but just lacked a female - feels like that's a waste of time for anyone cloning them.

I don't really mind the idea of a female one 1000 years later, but it does feel like that crap has to be explained. Did the Founders decide to start giving them fully working anatomy?

Did the Federation take over the cloning facilities and create enough of both genders to allow them to build their own societies?

Did the Jem'Hadar rebel after seeing some fine arse Federation women and decide they wanted a piece of that... and then also give themselves the tools to make that relevant?

Honestly I think that would have made a more interesting story than a teen drama set in the Star Trek universe.

Aside from the flamboyant Klingon, I think woke is the least of this shows problems.

The writing is horrendously bad.

I admit to being tired of these places getting writers that seem to just hate the source material.

I cannot fathom taking a job as a creator just to create within the universe of something I hated.

It's like running a D&D campaign set in Westeros and then immediately ruining everything that made GoT good and complaining to your players all the time about how crappy the world is.

And Vulcan was destroyed. .
I want someone to make a series set after TNG that goes off TV continuity and neglects Any Trek after 2009. But can include SNW.

Agree 100%

While the term Kelvin Timeline and Prime Time Line are thrown around, in my headcanon, There is a R-Universe (R for Roddenberry) which is pre-2009, then there's a J-K Timeline (JJ Trek/Kurtzman) that is all about post 2009.

There is a precedence as Worf once slipped inti an infinite really

So did the klingon guy end up gay? I see several fan sites saying it happened but can't find anything legit.

Because the writers are the worst collection of talentless disphits this side of The Acolyte.

Ok, I have tried it. I watched the first two episodes. To be honest, I though it was about 3 to 4 hours of viewing, it was only 1 hour and 40 minutes. As a TNG and DS9 guy, this show just does not following any ST rules or makes an sense. It is just bad. So many questions.

Why do telepathic Betazeds need to know sign language? It is very well established that Troi and her mother to speak telepathically.

Why do you have a klingon that likes birds like that is something weird? I think they established that klingons were a warrior culture but developed their own art, poetry, etc... Why is that suppose to be funny?

Why is the captain laying in her chair and walking around without shoes?

Why is there a rotund jemhidar female that is suppose to be cross bread with a klingon? Seriously, what. Why is her blood Ketrcel White? That is the drug used by the founders to keep them alive, they can not produce it. That is just wierd.

so many questions, so few cares to give to find out by watching more.

Episode 5 Dropped. All I can say is please stop this embarrassment of a show!

The fat hologram decided to compare herself to of all people the Emissary Ben Sisko and try to solve the mystery of what happened to him. Damn this was hard to watch. They had a real opportunity to offer an olive branch to the classic trek fans and shite the bed.
