episode 2 was kind of lame.

the dialogue is painful. i didn't think the words matched the actors' emotions.

the dud rolling around in the street, ooh it's cold!!1 it hurts!! untie me! ohhh it's cold! it hurts!

hope it gets better

Agree with all of that. I watched E2 last night and was damn near bored out of my mind. And I agree that the dialogue doesn’t always match with what’s on screen. I had to rewind a couple times because I felt like I missed something that was said. The subtitles also frick up sometimes for me. Like they will not show up for a few seconds so I’ll miss what is being said.

Through two episodes so far, this is way below AiB. But I will finish the season though (unless it just jumps off a cliff).

i just want to see more of the actual games. idgaf about the guy's mom or the guy's boss or any of that shite. showing the backstories up front would be better than going back and forth.

it actually reminds me of Enter The Dragon.

You get a brief titty from the crazy chick at one point, that is it for nudity.

Actually I just remembered you get some less desired nudity in I believe the second to last or third to last episode during the bridge game.

And what about the old man? Was he playing fair or were the games rigged in his favor for his safety? If so, he took a huge gamble with the tug of war game

He must of won a previous Squid game. Because you see him with 'Faceless Man'. So, he must have won a shitload on Won, and grew to be bored, or just playing one last time for nostalgia. Notice during gganja (sp?), he was looking for a certain place (his 'home'). It was a place that was familiar to him possibly from a previous game. And he wasn't suffering from dementia. It was just an act. We actually do not see him get shot.

So the end of the last episode, I think, sets up a return of 456 into the game because he is looking for a purpose. Money and life outside of the game holds no interest to him. His mother is dead, his daughter, he just turned his back on, he helped the last girl's brother, so he doesn't have many ties to the real world.

Netflix needs to throw a bunch of won at the director/producers and get a season 2 going.

Were you paying attention? It was all explained, and it wasn't this

He made his fortune as a money lender and created the Squid Game out of boredom, for him and his rich friends to gamble on.

You're right here. He was old and sick, and wanted to play for once instead of spectating. The dementia was an act, he reveals it to 456 when he tells him he should be ashamed of tricking his friend, right before he is taken away to be "shot".

Pretty sure 456 is going back to burn it down, he's not interested in playing again.

What would have happened if the girl doesn't die before the last game? Guess they would have played something else suited for three people?

I don't think they would have started the final game until it was down to two people.

I took that as the reason they left them the knife. It was a subtle hint that someone has to go.

Just finished the tug of war episode. Man, that was pretty intense. Great strategy though.

I’m gonna try to plow through E5 - E9 this weekend if I can. I’m digging the show so far. This shite is just nutso though.

It's pretty good, but Alice is much better. Be prepared for some cringy acting when the VIPs show up.

Probably my only complaint with the show. They were bad and had some cheesy lines.

Just finished episode 1 so not going to read through the read but I enjoyed it and will definitely finish.

Thus far it has a big Alice in Borderland vibe.

Unlike western audiences, most Koreans producers and directors is fine with telling a 1 season show. That how they keep on getting to tell new and unique story where as we in the Western world like the continuation of a series.

This is also why in Korea their actors pay the production company for the role but over here the production company pay the actors.
