I still think it has an outside chance of doing respectable numbers. I can't speak for everyone, but in my own circle, there are many people who held off on seeing it until first hearing some feedback...and when I say "feedback", I mean by friends and peers, not by paid critics and bloggers. Over the weekend, I've heard many people go from "Hard pass" to "OK, I guess I need to check it out after all", so I'll wait til next weekend's numbers before officially sticking a fork in it, lol...

I'm still calling it. At some point, they will say this movie bombed because it doesn't have enough diversity.

The episodic films drive the broader narrative forward.
Not under Disney they don't

Ron Howard came in last second and put together a decent star wars film. He deserves props

I think it's a function of a poor set of trailers and an unknown lead who it was widely reported needed acting lessons on set because he couldn't figure it out. I have no idea what the movie's about and I am Star Wars fan. I am the audience they are shooting for.

I don’t think the movie will have huge numbers but it will turn a profit. They almost spent no money on marketing this movie.

For sure. I didn't loathe TLJ as others, but it was definitely a "one and done" movie for me.
I also think enough people were aware of the Lord/Miller fiasco, so that may have caused some gun-shyness as well.

frick that Abby bitch. Having diversity just for the sake of it and not have it mean anything is worthless

No money on marketing? Lol. Have you not watched TV the last month or so? It has been everywhere. This movie will not make a profit. It has been reported the cost was $250 million BEFORE marketing. Probably close to $300 million. Most movies make up their money in overseas territories but Han Solo is falling way behind. For a SW film over a holiday weekend not to make over $200 million when it was the only new release is embarrassing. The hardcore fans have been pushed aside bc of Kathleen Kennedy and Disney agenda to change SW to what they want. This is the result they deserve. No one to blame but themselves.

That’s the thing with third wave feminists. If you’re not with them on 100%, you’re automatically a bigot.

I enjoyed it, nothing spectacular but much better than The Last Jedi. Hopefully the lackluster numbers boots Kennedy.

you have to be one miserable frick to walk out of that movie devastated by the lack of diversity.
I really enjoyed it, another great story to the franchise. Now somehow fix the main storyline and we're gold
