Had a group of friends who were really into wines. Trips to CA, tours of wine country, tasting parties...then this movie came out. So spot on.

Even if I didn't bother to get into wine, I get the passion. Just like anything else... cigars, music, cars, etc... The more one knows, the greater the appreciation.

Waht streaming platforms is it on? I've never seen it but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm listening to the Rewatchables podcast on this right now.

I'm assuming you heard it when it dropped last week leading to your desire to rewatch?

Because I'm pretty sure my wife and I will be watching Sideways tonight

Definitely in my top 5.

The movie actually had a significant impact on perceptions (and consumption) of Pinot and Merlot.

As a percentage of wine sales, Merlot probably still hasn’t recovered.

This movie is fantastic. Authentic and relatable, even more so now that I’m in my 30s.

agreed. It brought forth a bunch of crappy Pinot's since everyone tried to get in that game and made available some fantastic Merlot's at great prices.

Paul Giamatti was just fantastic. One of my favorite performances, like ever

You're not wrong but check him out in Barney's Version, to me that might be his best work.

I liked the movie, but now hate Giamatti with a passion. Absolutely loathsome character in Billions, and will never enjoy watching him again. All time most loathsome for me

Just an over educated, over privileged cuck, who spent his career trying to bring down what he couldn't be.

You and me both. It completely baffles me that people liked it so much.

Really?

I like the movie a lot too. I never found Sandra Oh to be very attractive, but she was very sexy in that movie.

Something about this movie, though that always depressed me, despite the humor and originality.

Essentially, it's too close to real life to lose yourself in the film.

I always appreciated that Jack was an equal opportunity Lothario, with the instinct and openness to know that the “tons of fun” waitress would be a willing and worthwhile ride.
