Help me out. Do we know why a Keagan Severed one of their family members yet? I know she was supposed to help him finish Cold Harbour but I couldn’t remember if they’ve given us any more than that.
Helly was a publicity stunt to fight against anti severance activists and stuff in the real world.

Was finally able to watch last night.
Terrific! I’ll probably rewatch 3x this week.
I read through the finale posts and will chime in later, definitely some good questions/thoughts.

Not surprised the lady was protective of the goat.
Many moons ago, goats were included in the training for special forces medics. They were chosen because they are personable and form a bond with their owners/handlers. The physiology is similar and the medic has to treat and operate on something he cares for.

No clue why they decided on the marching band thing but that was great. The marching band music bleeding into the theme music was too cool.
I think they chose the marching band because it’s a spectacle that the innies have never experienced. It’s an easy distraction and the dance party was such a hit with the fans this was the logical growth.

Show definitely has me wanting to revisit The Leftovers and Lost.

My question is when Matk S runs back to Helly where the hell are they going to go?

If you gravitate to that type of show and enjoy over-analyzing it, I'm standing next to you. I personally love it.
If you don't gravitate to that type of show and do not enjoy over-analyzing it, I understand also. Not every show is for every one.

I used to gravitate towards those kinds of shows, but whether it’s because they could not close at same level as rest of series, just went completely off the rails towards the end, had a season in purgatory, or got canceled too soon I currently am not as interested in them as I used to be.
I was still looking forward to 2nd season of severance. I watched the first 2 shows of this season but was not into it enough to immediately watch the 3rd episode when released, and I later decided to take a break until 4th episode released to get a couple episodes to watch together, then decided to extend that break to get 3 to watch together, and kept repeating until I am still only 2 episodes into it.
I even took a peak at some spoilers after a few weeks to spark an interest. I later decided I needed to review 2nd episode to get it back in memory and then paused after several minutes to do something else which is where I still am an over a week later.
I struggled with first season initially when I finally decided to watch it but having entire season to view when I wanted helped push past those initial issues. With complete season out now at some point that same scenario may end up playing out with season 2, but I have to get to a moment where I really want to see what’s next and can go straight into the next episode immediately and get drawn back into the show.

This. It's not like they can hide out down there forever.

The only thing he knows is that his life is over once he gives up Gemma, so he's gonna do whatever extends his time with Helly while he has it.

The Leftovers
I started this over the weekend and am 5 episodes in. Carrie Coon is about as sexy as a human can be.

Welcome to the major plot of season 3. I’m sure they’ll be exploring the severed floor and hiding out in god knows what kind of nooks and crannies are down there. Almost like a barricaded situation. I’m hoping that’s not the only plot point but it’s certainly interesting.

Milkshake sprinting away after he gives Dylan the letter from his outie was lowkey one of the funniest things I’ve seen this year. Such a small detail but it was just fricking funny
According to the official podcast, him sprinting off was not in the script. Tillman just did that on his own.

Hated it. Stupid & lazy subverting expectations crap. Pathetic.

They don't know. All he knows is if he goes through that door his life is over and he never sees Helly again.
He is trying to extend it any way he can, even if its illogical. Its about as basic an emotion or reaction as there could be.

We already know they can trigger the innie/outie transition remotely. So...

Reminded me of the end of The Graduate. Bold action driven by love but then a realization of "now what in the hell do we do?"

Before I saw the finale I saw a bunch of The Graduate memes on twitter about the ending so you weren't the only one

They lost a lot of momentum with episode 7 and 8, and this finale didn't do anything to regain it. If anything it will get people to cancel their Apple TV+ free trials.
Totally unsatisfying finale and now I have no desire to watch season 3. It's not a good sign when asking a simple question like "where is the security?" makes the entire show fall apart.

That switch is in the security room on the severed floor, which the innies now control. They also have Milchick, Nurse, Doctor, and possibly Jame as bargaining chips. I’m not sure of the location of Jame’s observation room.
