Here is how I assume most people view RT scores:
You liked the movie and the RT score is high? Cool, my opinion is affirmed by most people.
You disliked the movie and the RT score is low? Cool, my opinion is affirmed by most people.
You liked the movie and the RT score is low? I'm smarter than the general audience.
You disliked the movie the RT score is high? I'm smarter than the general audience.

Your hypothesis might have some weight to it for a new movie, but what about a movie that has been out on streaming for a while? Plenty of people can stream it and leave a review, but push notifications are still weighted more than manual reviews.
I think that is the point the Reddit user was making by showing the list in the OP of older movies.
Obviously there is no way to perfect it, which again means all scores should be taken with a grain of salt.

Except that the Reddit poster claims that the “real score” of the odyssey was the 56% attained from the pull system. And the odyssey is decidedly not an old movie.
So that is very clearly not the point the Reddit user was trying to make.

Probably if you only take into account the opinions of people who actually saw the movies. The Woman King has a niche market that likely and undoubtedly loved the movie.
Imo, aggregators are much less informative when you let biased individuals review movies they haven't taken the time to screen.

The tomato score is not a big deal. Look at the actual rating critics are giving it. You can have a film with a 5.5 rating and that's a fresh score
