This is exactly how I feel. The hate on this movie is insane. It’s at worst very good. I don’t know what else to say. There’s really not that much to legitimately pick at it. I’m not saying it’s perfect. But please tell me how it’s anything but a very good movie bordering on excellent. I don’t think there’s a legitimate argument that it’s a poor movie or a disaster.

There were zero moments in it that I loved like so many scenes in his previous movies
Endings of inception and Interstellar

Better yet, is to learn RT was once a great idea and site in the earlier stages of public Internet and got bought out by shills. I love the whole RT ratings debate - the back and forth is its own entertainment. RT means zero to me. How people put stock into RT, either way, it's fairly mind-boggling.

Note, I use review bombing/counter bombing just as bombing. My parlance for brevity's sake. Counter bombing is also called brigading or astroturfing but they are both more specific terms of art.
Second, IMDB does nothing to remove bombing or counter bombing other than simple things like limiting votes by IP they just give you the data. My post was specifically to provide my process for eliminating these, at least crudely, from the data. The simple way is to ignore all 1s and 10s at least the ones given in the first weekend. If you do that alone you will pull 99% of bombs/counter bombs out of the data.

I tend to ignore them altogether. There are a lot of people out there that throw 10s at anything decent. Supergirl has no small number of 10s.

Just for interest if you remove the 10s and 1 from the IMBD data and convert the average from an 8 point scale (2 to 9) to a 10 point scale (1-10) you get 8.2.

They felt bad user reviews hurt Captain Marvel. They deleted all reviews made before the film dropped, and that wasn't enough. The MCU was a juggernaut at the time
It was a bad movie, and it was appropriately reviewed
The movie still cleared a billion dollars. . .so there goes that excuse for modern films
