Citizen Kane & 2001 regularly show up toward the top of many “best ever” lists, but I think it’s because the ones making the lists are scared to say “this is boring”

Penny has great tits but the face of a Picasso painting.
Sitcoms are supposed to be funny. I don’t respect lowbrow humor with little to no creative effort. The best humor is when you can’t anticipate the punchline.
Modern Family is a good example (well the early seasons anyway).

More of a nostalgia thing.
I was a kid in the 60's and really enjoyed the 1st season. Seeing the men drinking and smoking at work reminded me of going to friends' dad's offices But the nostalgia must have worn off, because the 2nd season just felt like a soap opera. I quit watching it. Part of the reason I stopped it was not liking the younger people in it. Mainly hated Peggy and Pete. They became too big a part of the show.
