I am the verge of quitting on this show. It would definitely be better without Beth. Her constant tantrums and threats to ruin someone are tiresome. There are some great actors on this show and the cinematography is amazing, but the writing has gotten ridiculous.

Definitely. The funny thing is that they would think Beth was a raging bitch in real life.

They hate Monica because she’s whiny. She should stop complaining about almost getting murdered, her son getting kidnapped, and losing a kid. What a whiny bitch.

First problem is that no “bouncer” would have taken Beth out of Rips arms.

As soon as the fight started Rip would have taken Beth to the car and the other hands would have given them cover to escape.

They would not have waited for the police
Even before that, Rip knows Beth would do something dumb so he wouldn't have let the girl go right up to her. There never would have been a fight, it was just lazy writing the way they allowed it to happen so obviously.

I'm still hanging on.

Watching that extended trailer for 1923, and it looked great. I'm hoping it'll take the heat off of Yellowstone.

Two points and I'll let the episode die next to that old horse.

1. I don't like them using infant death in the storyline. I'm sorry- I just don't like it as a plot point. It's junk writing for a tertiary character and inessential throw away plot point.

2. Beth alluding to either killing Jaime's child or tearing it away from its father. Absolutely a bunch of bull crap. I'd have punched her in the face if she pulled that kind of crap the way she did- as would most men of young children.

She is a terrible, awful character but she crossed the literary rubicon. She has to die at this point and its a shame Jaime didn't run her over.

That's unforgivable.

I agree about 1923. It looks very promising. I really enjoyed 1883.

I’m with you. Don’t think I can stick with it much longer. Someone needs to take over the writing from Taylor Sheridan. Story is going nowhere.

Beth needs to be given the Kayce treatment and regulated to minor character.

My wife and I are about done.

The car scene with Beth and Jamie was so ridiculous. Beth is such a copy and paste character with no arch. Shes just constantly pissed and hates Jamie and wants to kill him for taking her to a clinic when she was a teen. We get it. Move on

And John as Govenor you have to suspend reality. Hes doing so many things that would never fly. Just walking in a room and dropping F bombs, firing everyone and cancelling appearances. Come on man

This show is a shell of Seasons 1-3

When Jamie sincerely apologized to Beth in the car it would have been a decent opportunity for their relationship to possibly take a slight turn to improvement, but no, just more ridiculousness from her “character”.

Couldn't get the episode on Sling last night. I'm counting that as a mercy, but my wife wants to keep watching. I think I've convinced her to wait till seasons over and catch it all on a free app. Beth is a trash character and this show needs to fizzle out and die or experience a violent death and rebirth. Sheridan needs to stick to movies, and do miniseries instead of multi-season shows.

So we watched Breaking Bad last night instead. The Tortuga episode.

-Something highly illegal happens on the ranch, and the pards clear it up in a haphazard way;
-John does some political stunt that would get him impeached IRL but works out perfect on the show;
-Beth is a bitch to everyone and has a bunch of one liners about hating Jaime;
-Kayce learns some new native ritual while Monica is in a deep depression; and
-Jaimie is simultaneously an Ivy educated expert lawyer while being a massive idiot and completely emasculated by everyone but also everyone relying on him to save everything.

Rinse and repeat and you have have every episode.

The immediate sex with the new hired gun-bitch was just awful. How can he not see he's being played?

Depressingly accurate.

Last night I said to my wife, "how can Jamie be the smartest and dumbest person on the show at the same time?"

No she doesn't want to kill him, but she doesn't want Jaime to raise him.

The casting for 1923 makes no sense

John Dutton Sr is played by someone born in 1978

His Son Jack Dutton is played by someone born in 1988

This? This is what you think requires you to suspend reality? Not the numerous murders? Not the farcical character that is Beth? Not the ridiculousness that is every other character on this show? The buckle bunnies? The meth head Jimmy? Jamie being a huge pussy and the AG? The Asian tourists disappearing without any question? Bombs in airplanes? Bombs in office buildings? But no interest from the FBI or ATF? all those undiscovered bodies from teh "Midnight train rides"?

firing everyone

i rather enjoyed that scene. Thats what just about every taxpayer would love to see happen in real life. It just never would.

It has always bothered me that they use another actor to play John from only 20 years ago. A little makeup and a fake mustache could easily make Costner look 20 years younger

Taylor Sheridan is going to turn this show into SOA

That was my first thought when Kayce's son was kidnapped. It's the same show with horses instead of bikes. Kayce is Jax Teller, Beth is Peg Bundy, Monica is Tara, etc etc.

eta: The show would be more enjoyable without Monica.
