being blindsided and watching your parents die on camera vs. being told the whole situation with time to digest are very likely different reactions.
And holding a person who was under mind control responsible and trying to kill the? Also the wrong action. Cap was right in trying to find a better/good time. It was wrapped up in the Accords thing. not the right time.

I need to read some CA comics.
The Winter Soldier is one of my favorite comic book movies of all time but the 1st one was just meh and Civil War was one of the worst super hero movies of all-time. Downvotes coming but i stand by that.

Cap's reasons for being against them were mainly for his own interests to protect Bucky.
You may want to watch CW again. He was against the Accords from the outset and Bucky wasn't a wanted man until the bomb went off at the signing of the Accords.

Everything that happened in the MCU happened. That did not change.
Cap was still found in the ice and was around for Avengers in 2012. Everything that we know happened still happened (including the Snap).
Steve Rogers went to a separate timeline and got married and lived with Peggy until she died, then he came back to the primary/MCU timeline and gave the shield to Sam.
The 2012 Cap ceased to exist when he went "back" in 2023 until he reappeared on the bench afterwards. In the interim, he aged appropriately and was his chronological age when he returned.

Im super late, but finally watched the movie last night. Man, this did not disappoint at all. It started off pretty bland and I was somewhat bored in the beginning. By the time the team went back to the 2012 Avengers I was all the way drawn in. I didnt realize how corny he looked in his original look with the mask on. Also it was great to see the Hulk back in his prime (SO MANY STAIRS!) Some of my favorite moments:
Thor going for the head.
Steve on the Elevator. That was 100% a nod to one of my all-time favorite scenes from Winter Solider. For a second I thought the same thing was going to happen.
Korg returning was amazing. I hoped he survive but wasn't sure. I only wish he would have had more screentime, possibly in the ending battle.
Cap wielding mjonir might be one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. For sure #1 moment of entire MCU.
When Black Panther showed up and you begin seeing all the portals from Doctor Strange appear, my entire theater went wild. I didn't think we would see any of the dusted until the end of the movie after Thanos was defeated. I'm so glad we got to see everyone in action again for a final battle.
Scarlett Witch going Ape shite on Thanos was so satisfying.
Captain Marvel coming in at the end finally, fricking shite up, basically making Thanos crap his pants was really cool. I didn't realize just how freaking strong she is. I wonder what does the MCU do with her next, she is insanely OP, as in I think she could take in-shape Thor and Hulk-Smash Hulk. I still don't like the actress as Brie just has 1 emotion and sounds so monotone, but the character itself I do like.

Some stuff I didn't like:
Professor Hulk. I dont mind Hulk and Bruce finally coming together as 1. I just wish we could have seen the transition on-screen. Not to mention, we didn't get to see him in action at all. Even in the final battle, I could have gone for some Banner smash, but we got nothing. He did show insane amount of strength holding whatever that was up to save Rhodey and Rocket. But that was it. He should have been right there with Cap,Tony, Nd Thor battling. He needed some get back too.
Ronin/Hawkeye. He really became a waste. That scene in Japan was absolutely amazing. He became very dark, gritty, a true vigilante. As soon as he got back around everyone else he was just back to normal. I would have like to have seen him have a complete personality shift, even with him back around.

You think?
She smashed and destroyed Thanos’s mega battle ship by kamikaze’ing into it without a scratch. She also was whipping Thanos’s arse until he slugged her with an infinity stone.
She’s massively overpowered. I’m not sure what MCU can really do with her.

I am. Remember that they introduced the Skrulls in her origin film. A lot can happen in 25-30 years, to include a despotic psycho bitch of a queen (Veranke) who engineers one of her most loyal Soldiers...let's name him, Kl'rt, to be able to mimic the ABILITIES of anyone he takes the form of. Maybe refer to him as a SUPER SKRULL perhaps.

MCU Cap is pretty a straight Brubaker Cap outside of the First Avenger.
So you can start here: LINK
It's one of the best modern runs in comic books. YW again

Why does everyone forget that Cap was going to sign the accords, he had the pen in his hand, until he found out that Tony was keeping Witch against her will. THAT was what set Cap off for good, he was already seeing the negative effects of it.
He's been very consistent on that line of thinking too.

Cap was also told by his government not to save soldiers in the 40s, including his best friend. So yeah I’m sure that guy is ready to sign away his ability to help when someone is in need of help.

Now that Falcon is Captain America, I’ll wonder if we’ll get a recreation of this scene:

Whoops, there it is. One of the worst of all time? That’s pretty rough man. Theres some really bad superhero movies....
I didn’t downvote btw

Thanks for this. Is Captain America:Red Menace and Death of Captain America: The Complete Collection a continuation/conclusion of The Winter Soldier arc?
Winter Soldier remains my favorite Marvel movie. Watching it puts The First Avenger in a better light also. Civil War was disappointing though.

Finally saw it and managed to stay unspoiled. I’m just perusing this thread now. I’m sure my thoughts are nothing new.
I thought th whole thing felt like a farewell tour and it was neat that they revisited the past movies. They’ve earned it and it played well if you just don’t think about it too much.
I can get over the time travel piece except the Thanos and Cap timelines are truly screwed. I can see married Cap coexisting with mainstream Cap...but Thanos being killed off before the snap could occur is problematic.
Helmsworth is a hell of an actor. I thought they overdid Lebowski Thor but considering he was the Uber badass in IW I guess that’s okay. When he finally got his shite together with braided beard and long hair that was a good nod. Also I thought it was touching that he got to revisit his mom.
Cap with the Hammer was epic.
RDJ nailed it and the Ironman arc was sad but well done. Did I miss Pepper learning to operate a suit?
Hulk holding up the rubble ala Secret Wars was great. I was expecting worldbreaker Hulk to emerge after absorbing the stones power and was disappointed he never got his licks in after disappearing in IW.
The whole MCU showing up at the final battle was awesome. Strange should’ve been the first through.
Captain Marvel was well done and her arriving to destroy Thanos ship was great. Her haircut was in line with the comics and her persona supposed to be cocky and tough - too bad Larson can’t pull that off in a likeable way.
The girl power scene was forced and threw me out of the moment.
You could see the cap ending coming....I did not see the Iron Man ending coming.
All in all...IW seemed to flow better but this was a great ending with homage to the earlier movies. Helluva ride.
Edit..one other thing. Seemed a bit over the top with the language and “America’s arse” stuff....especially when the theatre is full of kids.

Two questions
Where was the “what the hell” that’s been in the other movies?
Please explain the “on your left”.
TIA

CA: The Winter Solider dog.
Opening scene, when they are running around the reflecting pool in DC...Cap keeps passing Sam and saying "On your left" because he's Captain America and runs a mile in like 2 min. Then Sam jokes about it.
It was an AWESOME callback to that film.

Marvel has probably the worst way of releasing Trade Paperbacks. There are 3 versions - The Big all in one books, the small 6 issue collections and the ultimate 22 comic book collections. The Cheapest way is to stick to the utlimates (the one I linked).
The most efficient is the 3 or 4 hardback TPBs that run $100.
So the Ultimates are:
Captain America Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection (TPB)
Captain America Red Menace Ultimate Collection (TPB)
The Death of Captain America The Complete Collection (TPB)
Captain America The Man with No Face (HC/TPB)
Captain America Road to Reborn (HC/TPB)
Captain America Reborn (HC/TPB)
Captain America Two Americas (HC/TPB)
Captain America No Escape (HC/TPB)
Captain America The Trial of Captain America (HC/TPB)
Captain America Prisoner of War (HC/TPB)
Fear Itself (HC/TPB)
Captain America Vol. 1 (HC/TPB)
Captain America Vol. 2 (HC/TPB)
Captain America Vol. 3 (HC/TPB)
Captain America Vol. 4 (HC/TPB)
Captain America & Bucky The Life Story of Bucky Barnes (HC/TPB)
Captain America & Bucky Old Wounds (HC/TPB)
Winter Soldier The Complete Collection (TPB)
You can skip a few of those
