I know nothing of neither Atkins nor Joyner, any insight on pros and cons of each?

Yes. Ive got three main AR platform guns that I’d like to swap around on.

My recommendations will both be CAT cans as well, because I own several and love them. I’ll preface this by saying Gen 1 CAT cans have two versions; the “civilian” version and the “military/duty” version, which is the Alleycat line. They are pretty easy to find currently, so I will recommend them over their civilian version, as they are a little better in performance due to some slight extra length (they say an extra baffle).

If sound suppression is the priority, look into an Alleycat 308. Since you are mainly predator hunting and off a tripod, the negatives of this one kind of get nullified (it’s longer and a little gassier, although still not too bad). The civilian version is the JL (Johnny Law). It does very well on 556/223 despite being a 30 cal can. It’s mainly intended for bolt guns, which is why it lacks the gas management of the next can. But if you’re shooting yotes mainly I don’t see how it’d be an issue. It will definitely be the quietest of the two.

Next would be the Alleycat 762. It is designed for gas guns, so it is better in that regard. It is shorter and therefore lighter. It also performs very well on 556/223. It’s civilian version is the ODB (Ol Dirty Bastard).

Hopefully other folks will have experience with some other options to chime in with, but these are the ones I can speak on.

Are you wanting something that can be used for all 3?

If you could only get one lever, would it be 357 or 44?

Some of the most fun shooting you can have is suppressed 38spl through the 357 chambered one.

So is this list in effect now/immediately?

Since the new OEM Glock mags are metal, do you think I can simply leave the Shield mag release and not worry about changing it?

There’s a video on youtube of a guy trying, and he confirms the Shield mag release is NOT compatible.
ETA: nvm I see it was posted previously

Yep, this and the chargers for the probes were my only complaints. They have since remedied both. I posted about it last week or so, but if you haven’t seen it they have an AC charging station now for the probes.

You da man. Figured it was a breather of some kind, but turns out its a drain.

ETA: it’s this one in case someone makes their way to this thread in the future LINK
My new starter didn’t come with one, so it’s just an open hole. Do I need to try and find one of these or will it be ok without? Doesn’t seem like a good idea to just leave the hole open. Preciate any help

Thermoworks finally made an AC charging station for the probes. The little shitter docks requiring a AAA battery were my only complaint.

I really wanted to use the MOE SL grip for its angle, beaver tail, and just overall looking similar to the traditional HK grip as far as shape. Had to do some epoxy work to close up some gaps, as the beaver tail does not fit to the lower. But I like how it turned out for sure.

I’m curious of your results as well, as mine is utilizing a SS not an ARC. I’ve had a SS in mine with a Lee lower from back before the Atrius and ARC lever type ones came out. I’ve been happy with it, but the ARC people are supposedly coming out with HK style levers for theirs. So I plan on making the swap if those ever drop.

Fwiw, mine wouldn’t cycle correctly suppressed in forced reset, with 147gr subs, with an 80 degree locking piece. Runs flawlessly with the factory one though.

Good to know- thanks. I’ve tried a couple of premade bottles and they’re ok, but not great. I’ll definitely look that recipe up.

This is serviceable as far as store bought in a pinch.

There is a line on it that they recommend reaching when inserting, to protect the internals. I’ve never had a problem achieving that, but I guess that varies depending on your uses.

Have all of these plus a Signals. Can’t recommend them enough, all work exceptionally well, and Thermoworks customer service is outstanding.

Yeah but it ain’t exactly huge back there. Obviously doesn’t matter for grocery getting, but it’s noticeable if you try to throw something large back there. I hate how they locked you into a hybrid if you want a higher end trim package. Luckily she didn’t care for any of the stuff that comes with them, and wanted a regular TRD Off Road. I didn’t want a hybrid, and (to me) the screen in the higher packages is obnoxiously big.
