Obsession surpassed Star Wars at the daily box office on Wednesday…

Obsession had a 39% increase from weekend 1 to weekend 2 and it’s on track to increase again for weekend 3.

Highly recommend checking it out if you’re a horror fan. If you haven’t watched a trailer, don’t. Go in blind and you won’t be disappointed.

Going to see Obsession saturday, Mandaborean is tracking for a -64% drop in week 2

Mandalorian made more than $4 million yesterday. That is a very good Wednesday. Obsession made more than $5 million. That is an incredible Wednesday.

Obsession is a good fricking movie. Grogu is several okay or meh episodes of the Mandalorian rather than a real movie.

This is one of those cases where the better product is getting an appropriate amount of success.

This is also where I make another plug for the Sheep Detective movie. It's a better movie than Grogu and more kid friendly if Obsession isn't your genre and you want to take the family to the theater

Also, the marketing has moved to insta and tiktok. This is driving the zs and the alphas to join in on the zeitgeist. It's not often a movie has reached that level of fever pitch. It isn't like growing up where the movie of the weekend became a real cultural phenomenon. This is really neat to see and especially awesome for the Barker family. Huge momentum for the budding horror director. Blumhouse has his momentum primed right into his next project as well. They gambled big as this was finished back in 2024.
